CTG is seeking to fill a Technical Engineer IV opening for our client.

Location: Remote

Duration: 12 months

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a senior technical specialist supporting firewall infrastructure, firewall rule engineering, Azure network/firewall engineering, and enterprise infrastructure.
  • Design, implement, and maintain secure firewall and network infrastructure solutions.
  • Develop, review, and manage firewall rules, configurations, standards, and technical documentation.
  • Provide advanced support for Check Point firewalls; Aviatrix experience is highly desirable.
  • Analyze technical and business requirements and translate them into secure, scalable infrastructure solutions.
  • Partner with Technology teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and support teams to deliver complex infrastructure and security initiatives.
  • Perform architecture, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and production implementation activities.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Ensure solutions follow industry best practices, security standards, risk controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and security issues with minimal supervision and provide effective technical recommendations.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced technical expertise in firewall infrastructure engineering, firewall rule engineering, Azure network and firewall engineering, and enterprise infrastructure architecture.
  • Lead or contribute to complex infrastructure and security initiatives with minimal supervision.
  • Translate complex business and functional requirements into structured, secure, and high-quality technical implementations.
  • Provide technical guidance and recommendations regarding firewall architecture, network security, infrastructure design, and vendor technologies.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers, integrators, developers, testers, vendors, and business stakeholders throughout the technology lifecycle.
  • Apply advanced analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical skills to resolve complex infrastructure and security issues.
  • Ensure solutions align with security requirements, architecture standards, operational practices, and regulatory expectations.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical mentoring and coaching to less experienced engineers, technicians, and integrators.
  • Review work products, technical documentation, proposals, configurations, and implementation plans prepared by junior staff.
  • Provide technical leadership on projects and initiatives without direct personnel management responsibility.
  • Facilitate technical discussions and influence stakeholders toward effective, secure, and sustainable solutions.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 8 years of combined higher education and/or professional experience in systems design, management, infrastructure engineering, and/or architecture.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in technical engineering involving infrastructure design, system architecture, development, data management/interchange, or complex enterprise applications.
  • Strong experience with firewall infrastructure engineering and firewall rule engineering.
  • Strong experience with Azure network and firewall engineering.
  • Senior-level experience with Check Point firewalls is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Aviatrix is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure and system development lifecycles, architecture principles, vendor best practices, IT Service Management, and systems design.
  • Advanced technical, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of industry and/or vendor technologies.
  • Ability to complete complex technical tasks with minimal supervision.

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise firewall and network security solutions.
  • Experience working with complex infrastructure environments and virtualization technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of server/client and virtual technologies.
  • Experience gathering, documenting, and analyzing system specifications and technical requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively with integrators, developers, testers, vendors, and business stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong facilitation and influencing skills with the ability to elicit and review requirements from diverse stakeholders.
  • Understanding of how people, processes, and technology interact to create feasible solutions for medium- to high-complexity projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Process-oriented with strong attention to detail.
  • Logical thinker with strong organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Adaptable and able to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $55.98 - $93.29/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
