Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead, Medical Assistant based in the United States.
This role provides an opportunity to help shape high-quality virtual care for patients managing complex and chronic respiratory conditions. You’ll serve as a key resource for a Medical Assistant team, combining clinical knowledge with day-to-day leadership and operational support. The position plays an important role in ensuring consistent workflows, strong patient experiences, and adherence to clinical standards. You’ll mentor team members, support onboarding, coordinate coverage, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency. Working closely with clinical leadership, you’ll contribute to quality assurance, workflow audits, and performance improvement initiatives. The environment is fully remote, dynamic, and mission-driven, requiring someone who is comfortable taking ownership and adapting quickly. This role is well suited to an experienced Medical Assistant who wants to expand their leadership impact while remaining connected to patient care operations.
Accountabilities:
- Serve as the primary resource and point of contact for the Medical Assistant team, providing day-to-day guidance and support.
- Mentor Medical Assistants and contribute to their professional development, engagement, and performance.
- Assist with onboarding and training new team members, helping ensure they understand clinical workflows, protocols, and organizational standards.
- Monitor daily workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and team performance.
- Help ensure established clinical processes and organizational standards are followed consistently across the virtual care environment.
- Support leadership with quality assurance activities, workflow audits, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Help coordinate daily Medical Assistant assignments, schedules, and coverage to support operational continuity.
- Identify operational challenges and communicate issues, observations, and recommendations to clinical leadership.
- Promote a patient-focused approach in day-to-day operations and interactions.
- Contribute to a collaborative, accountable, and learning-oriented remote team environment.
Requirements:
- Associate degree in a relevant healthcare or medical field preferred.
- 5+ years of Medical Assistant experience.
- 1–2+ years of leadership, mentoring, supervisory, or team coordination experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of clinical and administrative Medical Assistant workflows.
- Ability to work effectively and independently in a dynamic, fully remote environment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate priorities and provide clear guidance to team members.
- Ability to identify workflow challenges, recommend improvements, and support implementation of operational changes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality, consistency, and patient-centered service.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with clinical leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience with EHR systems is preferred; experience with Athena is a plus.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup-oriented environment where priorities can evolve quickly.
- Demonstrated ownership, accountability, curiosity, humility, and willingness to learn.
Benefits:
- Fully remote work environment within the United States.
- Opportunity to contribute to technology-enabled, patient-centered virtual healthcare.
- Leadership and mentorship opportunities within a growing clinical operations team.
- Mission-driven environment focused on improving outcomes for patients with chronic cardiopulmonary conditions.
- Collaborative culture emphasizing ownership, innovation, continuous learning, and patient focus.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and a respectful workplace.
- Reasonable accommodations available for qualified individuals with documented disabilities.
