Job Description
About Us
At InspireSemi, we're not just building chips; we're revolutionizing high-performance computing. Our groundbreaking architecture packs thousands of 64-bit CPU cores onto a single chip, all seamlessly connected. We're driven by a mission to make high performance computing more accessible, energy-efficient, and easier for developers to harness. Ready to make a real impact? Join our passionate team!
Why Join InspireSemi?
- Be a Pioneer: Get in on the ground floor of a hypergrowth startup! You'll be part of a small, dynamic team shaping the future of computing.
- Make an Impact: Your work will directly contribute to disruptive technology.
- Grow With Us: Seize significant growth and development opportunities.
- Rewarding Compensation: We offer a competitive salary, bonus potential, and meaningful equity.
- Flexibility: Benefit from a hybrid work model (with potential for fully remote for exceptional candidates) and flexible time off.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a talented and driven Applications Engineer to help our customers deploy and optimize their software on our new accelerated computing platform. In this high-impact role, you will be a key technical resource, applying your programming and performance tuning skills to a wide range of cutting-edge HPC-AI workloads.
What You'll Do
- Customer Solutions & Technical Enablement: Serve as the primary technical expert during pre-sales engagements, guiding customers through the deployment, porting, and optimization of HPC and AI workloads on the Thunderbird "supercomputer cluster-on-a-chip" platform. Articulate the architectural advantages of Thunderbird and act as the first line of technical support to maximize workload performance.
- Product Feedback & Requirements Definition: Translate customer-facing application bottlenecks, workload profiles, and functional requirements into actionable specifications for internal hardware and software engineering teams.
- Technical Content & Sales Enablement: Develop high-impact technical assets, including proof-of-concept demos, application notes, whitepapers, and benchmarking guides, to accelerate customer onboarding. Design and deliver technical training programs for the direct sales organization, field engineers, and channel partners.
- Next-Gen Architecture & Modeling: Collaborate with research and hardware design teams to develop, validate, and refine performance models for next-generation accelerated computing platforms.
- Strategic Relationship Management: Establish deep, trusted technical partnerships with engineering leads, software architects, and technical executives across strategic focus accounts. Build seamless cross-functional bridges with internal engineering, product, and sales teams to drive rapid issue resolution and alignment.
What You Bring
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience with development in one or more HPC-AI application domains.
- Programming Skills: Excellent C/C++ programming skills; proficiency in Fortran is a plus.
- Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of Linux. Ability to measure and profile HPC-AI application-level performance at the node level. Working understanding of OpenMP, MPI, or related parallel programming models.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with the ability to analyze complex data and attention to detail.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to technical stakeholders.
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel as necessary and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Bonus Points
Experience with competitive performance analysis. Experience with graph analytics or other compute-intensive workloads. If you're excited about pushing the boundaries of computing and working on truly innovative technology in a rewarding environment, we'd love to hear from you!
