Overview

MSQ DX is seeking an Experience Design Director to join our growing team. This role brings UX and UI together to create intuitive, visually compelling digital experiences grounded in user needs and business goals. You’ll partner closely with strategy team to translate research and insights into user flows, interface design, prototypes and scalable design systems that shape websites, applications and connected digital experiences from concept through execution. Working alongside our Strategy leadership, you'll co-lead experience strategy for our clients, shaping how research and business goals become meaningful digital experiences.

Responsibilities

• Set the design vision and quality bar for digital experiences across client websites and applications, staying hands-on for key projects and pitches.
• Lead and mentor designers, providing design direction, feedback and guidance across projects.
• Build a culture of craft, feedback, and continuous learning.
• Partner with the Strategy team on user research, stakeholder interviews, workshops, journey mapping, persona development, audits and usability testing, ensuring insights drive design decisions.
• Help clients build experience roadmaps that prioritize initiatives by user impact, business value, and technical feasibility.
• Produce user flows and support sitemaps and content hierarchies when needed.
• Design intuitive and visually compelling interfaces.
• Own design system strategy, governance, and standards across client engagements, guiding the team in building scalable, reusable systems.
• Create interactive prototypes to communicate concepts and validate solutions.
• Establish design system documentation, governance and best practices.
• Serve as the senior design voice with the internal team and clients, presenting and defending design direction, building trusted relationships, and contributing to pitches, proposals, and estimates.
• Collaborate with strategists, developers and content teams.
• Lead the team's adoption of emerging tools and AI, defining how AI fits into both our design process and the experiences we create for clients.

Experience and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience in digital-first environments.
• 10+ years of experience designing digital experiences across platforms and devices.
• Deep Figma expertise with the ability to guide design system architecture and review work at a detailed level.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and other industry-standard design tools.
• Expertise in building and maintaining atomic design systems.
• Ability to synthesize research, behavioral data, and business objectives into clear experience strategy and design direction.
• Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and an understanding of how design decisions translate into front-end development.
• Experience leading design for DXP implementations (such as Sitecore or Optimizely) and partnering with technical leads on feasibility and scope.
• Working knowledge of emerging technologies and interfaces, including AI-powered experiences.
• Experience managing UX strategy on client engagements, from discovery through roadmap and delivery.
• Agency or consultancy experience managing multiple clients and competing priorities.
• Experience contributing to new business, including pitches, proposals, and project estimates.

Pay Range - Remote - US

$135,000—$165,000 USD
