Job Description

Position Summary

Allegis Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Desktop & Peripheral Device Support Technician to provide hands-on end-user support across our corporate and warehouse environments. This role is responsible for deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting desktop computing systems, mobile devices, network-connected peripherals, and user productivity tools.

The ideal IT Support Specialist candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills, excellent customer service abilities, and experience supporting Windows-based environments. Experience with warehouse technology, barcode printing, ERP systems, and collaboration platforms is highly desirable.

IT Support Specialist Key Responsibilities

End User Support

  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for end users across multiple locations.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and peripheral device issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop computers.
  • Support Microsoft Windows operating systems and standard business applications.
  • Assist users with account access, password resets, permissions, and file-sharing issues.
  • Document support activities and resolutions within the company ticketing system.

Device Deployment & Lifecycle Management

  • Image, deploy, configure, and refresh Windows laptops and desktop computers.
  • Apply operating system updates, security patches, and software upgrades.
  • Manage device inventory and equipment assignments.
  • Prepare new systems for employee onboarding and redeploy equipment as needed.

Mobile Device Support

  • Support Android and Apple iPhone mobile devices.
  • Configure email, Teams, Microsoft 365 applications, and security settings on mobile devices.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity, synchronization, and device performance issues.
  • Support Honeywell RF scanning devices used within warehouse operations.

Peripheral Device Support

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot:
    • Network printers
    • Zebra barcode printers
    • Multifunction copiers
    • Document scanners
    • Label printing systems
    • Wireless and USB peripherals
  • Perform printer calibration and barcode print quality troubleshooting.

Collaboration & Productivity Platforms

  • Support Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft 365 services.
  • Assist users with file sharing, permissions, synchronization, and collaboration tools.
  • Troubleshoot Teams calling, meetings, and communication issues.

Infrastructure Support

  • Assist with user access management and security best practices.
  • Support Active Directory and Microsoft 365 user administration tasks.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues involving desktops, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Escalate server, networking, and security issues when necessary.

Documentation & Training

  • Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles.
  • Provide end-user training and guidance on standard company technologies.
  • Assist with development of IT standards and deployment procedures.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of desktop support or help desk experience.
  • Equivalent combination of education and practical experience may be considered.

Technical Skills

  • Strong experience supporting Microsoft Windows operating systems.
  • Experience imaging and deploying laptops and desktop computers.
  • Experience applying operating system and application updates.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and support.
  • Experience troubleshooting:
    • Multifunction devices
    • Mobile devices
    • Network connectivity
    • SharePoint and Teams
  • Understanding of file sharing and access permissions.

Personal Skills

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities.

  • Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move computer equipment and printers up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to crawl under desks, rack equipment, and perform hands-on hardware installations.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to other Allegis locations as required.
