About the Role:

The Adult Education Community Outreach and Engagement Specialist plays a pivotal role in connecting adult learners with educational resources and programs within their communities. This position focuses on building strong relationships with local organizations, community leaders, and potential learners to promote adult education opportunities effectively. The specialist will design and implement outreach strategies that increase awareness and participation in adult education initiatives, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity. By understanding the unique needs of diverse adult populations, the role aims to remove barriers to education and foster lifelong learning. Ultimately, this position contributes to empowering adults through education, enhancing their personal and professional development within the community.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Community Development, or a related field.
• Experience in community outreach, adult education, or program coordination.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage diverse populations effectively.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency with standard office software and outreach tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Adult Education, Community Engagement, or a related discipline.
• Experience working with underserved or marginalized adult populations.
• Familiarity with adult learning theories and educational program development.
• Bilingual abilities or proficiency in languages commonly spoken in the community.
• Experience using data management systems to track outreach and engagement metrics.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute comprehensive outreach plans to engage adult learners and community partners.
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations, educational institutions, and local agencies.
• Conduct presentations, workshops, and informational sessions to raise awareness about adult education programs.
• Identify and address barriers to participation by gathering feedback and tailoring outreach efforts to meet community needs.
• Track outreach activities and measure their effectiveness to continuously improve engagement strategies.
• Coordinate with internal teams to align outreach efforts with program goals and resources.
• Represent the organization at community events, fairs, and meetings to promote adult education services.
