The People's Music School

The People's Music School, founded in 1976 by Dr. Rita Simó, is the oldest and only completely tuition-free music school in Chicago. Headquartered at 931 West Eastwood Avenue, Chicago, IL, the organization operates within the education industry and today serves more than 1,600 students throughout the Chicagoland metropolitan area and beyond. With a team of more than 80 employees, the school provides intensive music instruction and performance opportunities that support students' social, emotional, and intellectual growth. Guided by its founder's belief that music education should be accessible regardless of socioeconomic status, The People's Music School remains committed to empowering youth, families, and communities through the transformative power of music.
