Who We Are
Protera Health is a fast-growing digital health company reimagining musculoskeletal care. Founded by orthopedic surgeons and value-based care experts, we combine technology, evidence-based clinical pathways, and personalized human care team support to help patients with back, neck, and joint conditions improve function, reduce pain, and live better lives.
Our multidisciplinary virtual care team includes medical providers, physical therapists, health coaches, and other healthcare professionals. Our aim is simple: treat patients as we would our own loved ones.
The Role
Protera Health is seeking a Vice President of Care Delivery to lead our clinical team and own the day-to-day delivery of patient care.
This leader will be accountable for the clinical organization end to end, including workforce planning, hiring, onboarding, clinician management, quality, patient experience, clinical performance, and care-delivery improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate is experienced in musculoskeletal care, and one who has worn many hats through progression into clinical leadership. We will also consider an exceptional healthcare leader with substantial experience directly managing multidisciplinary clinical teams.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You will set the direction for the clinical organization while remaining close enough to the work to support clinicians, address performance concerns, resolve barriers, and ensure that clinical initiatives are successfully implemented.

- Establish clear expectations, accountability, communication practices, and performance standards.
- Coach and develop clinicians while promoting clinical excellence, professionalism, collaboration, and self-management.
- Conduct performance reviews and promptly address performance, conduct, or reliability concerns.
- Build an effective clinical leadership structure as the team grows.
Hiring, Staffing, and Capacity
- Develop clinical staffing and capacity plans based on enrollment, patient demand, growth projections, access standards, quality, and cost.
- Own clinician selection in partnership with the Operations and People teams.
- Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and retain high-performing clinicians.
- Ensure that new clinicians are appropriately trained and prepared for independent patient care.
- Maintain reliable coverage while balancing clinician workload, patient access, quality, and efficiency.
Quality and Clinical Performance
- Own the consistent delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care across the clinical organization.
- Establish and monitor standards for clinical quality, documentation, patient experience, and clinician performance.
- Lead chart audits, case reviews, quality-improvement efforts, and clinician performance plans.
- Monitor clinical outcomes, patient engagement, satisfaction, access, productivity, documentation timeliness, and escalation trends.
- Identify performance gaps and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Partner with physician leadership on clinical protocols, complex cases, scope-of-practice matters, and clinical governance.
Care-Delivery Operations
- Ensure patients move reliably through the care journey from initial evaluation through treatment, follow-up, escalation, and program completion.
- Improve clinical workflows, scheduling practices, interdisciplinary handoffs, and escalation pathways.
- Resolve day-to-day barriers affecting patients or clinicians.
- Ensure that clinical policies and standard operating procedures are practical, current, and consistently followed.
- Build care-delivery systems that support growth without compromising clinical quality or patient experience.
Projects and Cross-Functional Execution
- Lead clinical initiatives from design through implementation, measurement, and refinement.
- Translate company priorities into clear projects, owners, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
- Partner with Product, Technology, Data, Operations, Enrollment, and Client teams to improve programs and launch new services.
- Represent the clinical team in decisions involving workflows, platform functionality, patient experience, and service design.
- Ensure that new initiatives are effectively adopted by the clinical team and produce their intended results.
