Job Description

Do you have a strong technical construction background and a deep understanding of how construction components fit together? Can you develop construction details from scratch rather than simply copying existing ones? Are you the kind of person who thinks critically and solves technical detailing challenges independently? We are looking for a Technical CD Architect to collaborate remotely with our California-based client, working on high-end residential projects. This is not a role for someone who simply drafts or revises drawings—we're looking for someone who understands construction details and contributes technically, from concrete foundations and wall assemblies to structural coordination and landscape construction documentation. This is a flexible role, and you should be available to work Pacific Time (PT). Apply today!

BetterPros unlocks human potential by offering competitive compensation, flexibility, constant learning and growth, and the opportunity to work anywhere you want with one of our +130 active clients across the United States.

What you'll do:

  • Prepare and develop complete construction document sets, including floor plans, sections, and elevations, across the SD, DD, and CD phases.
  • Create and develop construction details from scratch, rather than simply editing existing drawings.
  • Develop technical details for concrete foundations, wall assemblies, and structural coordination.
  • Produce section development and solve complex technical detailing challenges independently.
  • Develop pool construction details, site walls and screens, and kitchen garden documentation.
  • Prepare landscape construction documentation with a strong technical approach.
  • Prepare permit sets to present to local authorities and complete CD sets for general contractors.
  • Accurately pick up redlines and implement revisions across the SD and CD phases.
  • Ensure all construction components are documented in a way that reflects how they actually work together.

What you must have:

  • Extensive experience preparing construction documents.
  • Strong knowledge of construction detailing and a practical understanding of how construction systems are assembled.
  • Proven ability to create and develop details, not simply edit existing drawings.
  • Experience solving technical detailing challenges independently.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Experience working on luxury residential projects.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to think critically rather than reproduce existing work.
  • An advanced English level.
  • High level of autonomy and strong self-management skills.

A great plus:

  • A background in landscape architecture or architecture.
  • Experience with pool, landscape, and site element documentation.
  • Familiarity with US construction standards and detailing practices.
  • Previous experience working with US-based architecture firms.

We've got the opportunity, you've got the talent. We want to hear from you! Apply now.
