Position: Systems Engineer and Applications Architect

Role Overview
Leads design, implementation, and management of the company's enterprise cloud architecture on AWS — covering applications, security, third-party integrations, and infrastructure modernization through automation and DevOps practices. Owns the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP), spanning compliance, network automation, security, cloud platform management, and disaster recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect secure, scalable, fault-tolerant cloud infrastructure (VPCs, networking, storage)
- Implement security controls (IAM, KMS, encryption, RBAC) and ensure SOC2/GDPR compliance
- Build automation via IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation)
- Design APIs, integration frameworks, and middleware
- Monitor system performance, drive capacity planning and disaster recovery
- Lead technical/architecture reviews and mentor project teams
- Partner cross-functionally with dev, security, and business teams
- Support project planning, budgeting, and vendor evaluation
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's in CS, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 10–15 years in Systems/Infrastructure Engineering, DevOps, or SRE
- Senior/Staff/Principal-level hands-on experience
- 5+ years AWS, including:
- Infra: EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, EKS, ECS, Lambda, CloudFormation, Route 53, CloudWatch, Auto Scaling, ELB/ALB/NLB
- IaC: Terraform, CloudFormation
- Automation: Python, Bash, PowerShell
- Containers: Docker, Kubernetes, EKS
- CI/CD: Jenkins, GitHub Actions
- Monitoring: CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, Datadog
- Security: IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, Security Hub, GuardDuty, AWS Config
- Strong communication skills across technical/non-technical audiences
Work Environment
Office/home-based with occasional warehouse/manufacturing site exposure; remote work available; some travel required.
