Job Description

The Opportunity

Bidgely is building a new category at the intersection of AI-driven energy data and grid flexibility— helping utilities and data centers with real, deployable capacity. We are looking for a founder-caliber executive to scale this product line: owning the P&L, the product roadmap, and the go-to-market, and building the team to run it.

This is not a domain-expert individual-contributor role. It is a general-management mandate for someone who can operate fluently across product, business strategy, and executive-level customer engagement — and who wants to build and lead an organization, not just an offering.

What You'll Own

  • Portfolio P&L: Full ownership of the Grid product and business portfolio — strategy, roadmap, positioning, and commercial results.
  • Team Build-Out: Recruit, structure, and lead the team (product, technical, and commercial) required to scale the portfolio — this is a build, not an inherited org.
  • Product Strategy: Define where Bidgely builds, integrates, licenses, or partners across the grid planning stack, and make that call with conviction.
  • Market & Customer Leadership: Represent Bidgely at the executive and board level with utility customers, partners, and investors; convert technical credibility into commercial trust.
  • Partnerships & Corp Dev Input: Identify and close partnership, licensing, or acquisition opportunities that accelerate Bidgely's position in the grid market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and own the 12–24 month strategy for the Grid flexibility, in partnership with the Chief Growth Office on market direction and positioning.
  • Translate market demand rapidly into product build and business narrative.
  • Build the operating rhythm, hiring plan, and org design for the business line — including product, engineering liaison, and go-to-market talent.
  • Own commercial outcomes: pipeline, pilot-to-contract conversion, and revenue growth for the portfolio.
  • Establish the credibility bar for the team's technical output (studies, pilots, filings-grade analysis) without personally performing the engineering work.
  • Act as the internal escalation point and external face for the highest-stakes utility relationships and evaluations.

What We're Looking For

  • Leadership & Business Acumen — must have: Track record building and scaling a team or business unit from an early stage — startup, new-venture, or intrapreneurial experience strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable owning commercial outcomes (revenue, pipeline, partnerships), not just product quality. Executive presence: credible in front of utility C-suite, boards, and investors, and able to translate technical depth into business conviction.
  • Product Acumen — must have: Has owned a product roadmap end-to-end — from market thesis through pilot design to commercial rollout.
  • Designs evidence, not demos: can specify a pilot as a study with a hypothesis, acceptance criteria, and a defined way to fail.
  • Knows how to prioritize a technical roadmap against commercial urgency, and says no to work that doesn't move the business.
  • Data Center Fluency — must have: Has worked with/ in data center and or hyperscaler with working knowledge of speed to power/ build/ control needs.
  • Understands the data center operations and surrounding ecosystem of partners, including utility and regulatory environment.
  • Evidence of leading/ participating in large software based commercial deals for data center energization/ build/operations.
  • Grid & Energy Domain — strong plus: Working fluency in distribution planning, hosting capacity, interconnection, and direct and evaluate a technical team.
  • Understands the utility buying and regulatory environment: capacity planning cycles, NWA evaluation, and what makes an analysis defensible in a filing.
  • Prior exposure to AMI, GIS, or grid planning software (CYME, Synergi, OpenDSS, ETAP, or similar) is valuable context, not a personal-practice requirement.
