Position Summary:

Prepares in-depth financial analyses and research to support and facilitate timely management decisions and/or financial reports or statements. Analyzes and evaluates financial implications of business decisions or transactions on financial results. Researches, evaluates and interprets financial data using advanced and emerging financial techniques and tools. Develops and manipulates complex financial models for support and analysis of business initiatives. Works with departments to ensure an understanding of financial consequences resulting from various actions. Provides support for internal and external auditors by preparing complex analytical schedules, responding to inquiries, researching issues and implementing recommended changes. Develops, designs, tests and documents system changes or upgrades. Represents finance on corporate teams and initiatives. Provides support to various accounting activities including journal entries, analysis and reconciliation of complex, higher risk general ledger and bank accounts and/or bank accounting, variance explanations, etc.

Qualifications:

Required

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics or related field

Experience:

• Experience as a Financial Analyst/Accountant or similar position
• Preparing and developing financial reports
• Using automated accounting and/or management reporting systems
• Preparing, analyzing and interpreting in-depth analyses of financial and or statistical data
• Model development and manipulation using Microsoft Office products
• Overseeing and guiding assigned individual deliverables to successful completion
• Preparing high risk, complex bank account reconciliation and analysis
• Preparing high risk account analysis and general ledger account reconciliations
• Balancing of ledgers to supporting systems for high level, high risk processes

Knowledge and Skills:

• Communicate effectively with others both orally and in writing
• Analyze complex financial data
• Demonstrate decision making and problem solving
• Derive actionable conclusions from analyzing data and information

• Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Preferred

• Experience in using automated accounting systems
• Applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or Insurance Statutory Accounting Principles
• Preparing complex journal entries
• Preparing complex account analysis and general ledger reconciliations
• Certified Public Accountant and/or Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Tax
• Experience using automated reconciliation software
• Knowledge of AAA products and services
• Experience in insurance accounting

Work Environment:

This position works from a home office location. Depending on the role, some employees may be required to come into the office, at a minimum, for important departmental meetings or team building events.

Compensation & Benefits Overview:

Compensation

Sr. Accountant/Financial Analyst will earn a competitive salary of $70,000 - $80,000 annually with annual bonus potential based on performance.

Time Off & Leave

Paid Time Off (PTO): Accrual-based, increases with tenure, eligible at 90 days of employment. Full-time new employees will receive up to 12 PTO days annually; accrual based on start date and may include additional PTO based on role and/or state & local requirements. Part-time employee PTO hours are calculated based upon the standard weekly hours the employee is scheduled to work and will accrue at a minimum of 3 hours per month

Paid Holidays: Full-time employees are eligible for 10 company-paid holidays annually, in addition to 1 mental health day, 2 floating holidays and 1 volunteer day. Holidays vary by business unit schedules. Part-time employees are eligible for 8 company-paid holidays annually, in addition to 1 mental health day and 2 floating holidays.
