Job Summary

The Senior Vice President, Operations is responsible for leading Accuity's downstream value capture operations and ensuring the organization delivers scalable, efficient, and high-quality operational performance. This executive oversees core operational functions including Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI), Coding, Revenue Cycle Operations, Denials, Quality, and related operational programs. The role is accountable for driving operational excellence, improving productivity through technology-enabled automation and process optimization, strengthening leadership capability across the organization, and preparing operations to successfully support product expansion and future growth.

As a key member of the Operations leadership team, the SVP partners closely with Clinical Operations, Operations Enablement, Reporting & Analytics, Product, Technology, Client Success, Finance, and Executive Leadership to translate strategic priorities into measurable operational outcomes that improve efficiency, client results, and enterprise value.

Responsibilities

Operational Leadership and Execution

  • Provide executive leadership and oversight, including operational strategy development and execution, for all downstream value capture functions, including CDI, Coding, Revenue Cycle Operations, Denials and Appeals, Quality, and related operational programs.
  • Lead a geographically distributed organization of 200+ employees, with responsibility for organizational effectiveness, performance, scalability, and future growth.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, quality audit practices, and standards of practice to ensure consistent, high-quality operational delivery of responsible functions.
  • Establish clear operational priorities, accountability structures, and performance expectations across all areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure consistent execution, service delivery, quality performance, and operational alignment across teams.
  • Own identification, planning, and execution of operational initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy, operational performance goals, and client commitments.
  • Develop and own foundational operational processes and structure to deliver on client commitments and company priorities, including staffing models and capacity planning, proactively forecasting resources needs, evaluating impacts of process and business changes, and executing on adjustments aligned with team performance and other organization initiatives.
  • Own operational execution for responsible functions including ownership and monitoring of client performance outcomes and associated actions to ensure consistency in delivery on internal and external commitments.
  • Evaluate organizational structure, leadership spans, and resource allocation to optimize performance and scalability.

Operational Excellence and Process Improvement

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that improve productivity, reduce waste, and lower the overall cost to deliver services.
  • Lead operational transformation efforts within functional areas and in partnership with other operational leaders as cross-functional initiatives focused on process standardization, workflow optimization, and operational rigor.
  • Partner with Operations Enablement, Product, and Technology teams to identify, prioritize, and implement automation opportunities that improve efficiency and effectiveness and translate identified improvements into realized improvement in cost to deliver.
  • Champion documented standard operating procedures, governance practices, and quality controls across operational functions.
  • Establish sustainable operating models capable of supporting continued organizational growth and complexity.

Technology, Automation and Product Expansion

  • Serve as a key operational leader supporting operationalization of new products and service offerings.
  • Partner with Product and Technology teams to align operational workflows with future-state capabilities and technology investments.
  • Partner with Product and Technology teams to define automation opportunities and provide key business requirements to enable operational efficiency execution and value capture.
  • Promote adoption of automation, workflow technologies, analytics, and operational tools that improve service delivery and financial performance.
  • Translate operational insights into recommendations and business requirements that support innovation and long-term business growth.

Performance and Business Outcomes

  • Drive measurable reductions in cost-to-deliver through process improvement, workforce optimization, and technology-enabled automation.
  • Improve productivity, quality, consistency, and operational efficiency across all areas of responsibility.
  • Advance operational maturity through standardized processes, governance, communication, and role clarity.
  • Support client retention and business growth through consistent execution and operational excellence.
  • Contribute to enterprise value creation through margin improvement, scalability, and operational readiness for future expansion.

Leadership and Talent Development

  • Develop and mentor a team of high-performing leaders and other emerging leaders across the organization.
  • Build leadership capability, business acumen, accountability, and decision-making effectiveness throughout operational teams.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Support succession planning efforts and build organizational bench strength to support future growth.
  • Serve as a visible, people-first leader who promotes engagement, professional development, and alignment across teams.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Clinical Operations and Operations Enablement leadership to ensure coordinated execution across value identification and value capture functions.
  • Collaborate with Reporting & Analytics to establish performance expectations, monitor key metrics, and drive data-informed decision making.
  • Work with Client Success, Finance, Product, Technology, Compliance, and Executive Leadership to align operational priorities with business objectives.
  • Communicate operational performance, risks, opportunities, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Drive clarity of ownership, decision rights, and accountability across operational and cross-functional initiatives.

Other Duties as Assigned

Perform other duties as assigned to support product development, business priorities, and organizational goals.

Qualifications

Education and Credentials

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, Health Information Management, or a related field required.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or a related discipline preferred.
  • One or more of the following credentials preferred: RN, RHIA, CCS, CDIP, MBA.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large, geographically dispersed operational teams.
  • Experience managing organizations of 200 or more employees, including clinical and non-clinical professionals.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams that include nursing and other healthcare professionals.
  • Proven success driving operational transformation, process improvement, and organizational scaling initiatives.
  • Experience implementing technology-enabled solutions, workflow optimization, and operational automation initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Healthcare revenue cycle leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Prior Vice President or Senior Vice President leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting product commercialization, operational readiness, or service line expansion initiatives preferred.
