Senior marketing operations analyst

The role:

Newsela is hiring a Senior Marketing Operations Analyst who can make a significant impact quickly. Reporting to the Director of Marketing Operations, this role will own key components of Marketing’s measurement, analytics, and reporting infrastructure, including reporting architecture, dashboard development and governance, advanced data modeling, multi-touch attribution, and KPI development and tracking. This role will partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Finance, and Operations to standardize reporting, strengthen data integrity, and expand visibility into marketing performance across the company.

Reporting:

• Lead cross-functional alignment with Finance and Sales Operations to establish consistent reporting and auditing across the organization.
• Own and architect full-funnel marketing reporting in Salesforce and Tableau, defining key performance indicators.
• Define and standardize scalable, repeatable analytical processes and reporting methodologies across different tools.
• Establish KPIs and benchmarks to measure against for testing and as the foundation for future modeling.
• Synthesize data across multiple platforms to provide holistic insights into marketing and business performance, including data from Marketo, Google Analytics, Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and other relevant sources.
• Partner with the Director of Marketing Operations to design, implement, and govern comprehensive multi-touch attribution and marketing influence models.

Data Structure:

• Assess campaign performance across channels and funnel stages to identify the data structures, inputs, and analytical approaches needed to surface meaningful insights.
• Scope and implement the data structure needed to effectively create, audit, visualize, and build reports for the Marketing organization.
• Drive cross-functional data integration initiatives to maintain seamless data flows in support of the company’s operations workflow.
• Own the strategic roadmap and implementation for unifying disparate marketing data sources for end to end analysis.

Analysis:

• Build advanced predictive models and forecasts for MQLs, pipeline, and bookings using top-down and bottom-up methodologies.
• Lead complex cross-functional analysis that improve data quality, strategic context, and support business decision making.
• Develop analytical frameworks to surface actionable insights, emerging trends, and strategies to optimize marketing performance.
• Deliver weekly executive-level reporting and strategic recommendations to guide team priorities and continuous performance optimization.
• Translate complex analysis and concepts in a way that makes it easy for all marketing team members and executives to understand what the story is and what it is telling the company to do.

Why you’re a great fit:

• 5+ years of progressive experience in marketing analytics or operations.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets, with experience analyzing and synthesizing complex datasets.
• Experience applying statistical modeling, forecasting, and advanced analytical techniques to business and marketing performance.
• Demonstrated experience developing marketing attribution methodologies, including multi-touch attribution and marketing influence models.
• Strong understanding of the marketing and sales funnel, including MQL, pipeline, bookings, conversion, and related performance metrics.
• Experience building scalable reporting frameworks, dashboards, and KPI measurement systems.
• Strong communication and data storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex analyses into clear insights and recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and influence stakeholders across Marketing, Sales, Finance, and leadership.
• Working knowledge of Salesforce, Marketo, Tableau, Google Analytics, or similar platforms.

Preferred Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Analytics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with Chili Piper, Salesloft, Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, or similar marketing and sales technology platforms.

Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s individual skills, qualifications, and experience. Total compensation for this role also includes incentive stock options and benefits.

Base Compensation Range $82,600—$108,550 USD
