Job Description

This is a remote position. Lead high-impact assurance engagements and help shape the future of a growing cybersecurity and compliance practice. As a Senior Manager – IT Audit, you will own SOC 2 and assurance engagements from planning through report issuance, serving as a trusted advisor to clients while ensuring exceptional quality, efficiency, and delivery. You will play a critical leadership role in managing client relationships, mentoring audit professionals, and driving operational excellence across the assurance practice. What You Will Do in This Role

Engagement Leadership

  • Own SOC 2 and assurance engagements from planning through final report issuance
  • Manage engagement timelines, budgets, resources, and overall delivery quality
  • Ensure all engagements comply with professional standards and internal quality requirements
  • Maintain accountability for successful client outcomes and engagement execution

Client Advisory & Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the audit and assurance lifecycle
  • Guide clients through SOC 2 readiness and audit processes with confidence and clarity
  • Build trusted advisor relationships with executive stakeholders and client teams
  • Provide practical recommendations to strengthen control environments and compliance programs

Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage, mentor, and develop audit staff and senior team members
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and professional development support
  • Establish clear expectations and promote a culture of accountability and excellence
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and team growth initiatives as needed

Quality Assurance & Technical Excellence

  • Review workpapers, testing procedures, and audit documentation
  • Apply deep knowledge of SOC 2 Trust Services Criteria across diverse client environments
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and quality across all engagement deliverables
  • Stay current on industry developments, emerging risks, and assurance best practices

Practice Growth & Continuous Improvement

  • Support adjacent assurance and compliance frameworks including HITRUST and HIPAA engagements
  • Identify opportunities to improve engagement efficiency, quality, and scalability
  • Contribute to the development of methodologies, templates, and best practices
  • Help shape the future direction of TrustNet's assurance practice

Requirements

  • Active CPA license (required)
  • Strong hands-on SOC 2 audit experience, ideally within a public accounting environment
  • Proven ability to independently manage multiple client engagements simultaneously
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and developing audit professionals
  • Deep understanding of the SOC 2 Trust Services Criteria
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working with audit tools, GRC platforms, and modern assurance workflows
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities

Preferred Qualifications

  • HITRUST experience
  • HIPAA or healthcare compliance experience
  • CISA, CISSP, CISM, or similar certifications
  • Experience working with SaaS, cloud, cybersecurity, or technology-focused organizations
