The mission of the Office of Human Resources is to serve as a strategic partner in providing proactive, comprehensive human resource services in alignment with agency and program mission and goals.
As a Senior Human Resource Business Partners (HRBP), you will provide outstanding customer service in a variety of professional human resource services to the agency managers and staff with a focus on labor and employment matters, management consultation, and complaint processes. This position performs administrative, technical, and analytical work in support of the State of Oregon Human Resources management. Duties include, but are not limited to:
A bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior or Development, Business or Public Administration, the Applied Behavioral Sciences, Industrial Relations, or a job-related course of study determined by the appointing authority and three (3) years of Human Resource professional-level experience related to the position.
OR
Valid Certification as a Professional in Human Resource awarded by the Human Resource Certification Institute, and four (4) years Human Resource professional-level experience related to the position.
OR
Six (6) years Human Resource experience related to the position. Four (4) of the six (6) years must have been at the professional level.
A master's degree in any of the above listed courses of study may substitute for one (1) year of professional-level experience.
The State Certified Human Resources Professional (SCHRP) certification, awarded by the Oregon Chief Human Resources Office, substitutes for six (6) months of human resource professional-level experience.
Valid certification as a SHRM Certified Professional awarded by a nationally recognized organization substitutes for one (1) year of human resource professional-level experience.
Valid certification as a PSHRA-CP from the Public Sector HR Association substitutes for one (1) year of professional human resources experience.

This position will be eligible for remote or hybrid work. Approval of out-of-state remote work will be made on a case-by-case basis and may be informed by factors that include legal compliance obligations of the other state. The work schedule is 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday Pacific Time during initial training and the trial service period. Thereafter the schedule is negotiable based on business needs.
Position requires a professional work week, where the hours of work may fluctuate on a daily and weekly basis based on business needs.
Some additional work hours as straight time may be required during peak periods as this position is exempt for overtime.
Occasional travel may be required to attend training or meetings, including annual meetings in Salem with in-person attendance preferred.

Requires working with multiple priorities, challenging issues, and managing confidential information.
Works in an integrated environment where diverse programs, partners and staff create the work team.
You will interact with ODHS employees, external clients, other agency representatives or members of the public who may have experienced trauma. Both internal and external customer service is conducted with compassion and professionalism through a trauma informed lens.
General work conditions include high stress environment due to a high-volume workload with short time frames.

The Oregon Department of Human Services does not offer visa sponsorship.
