Job Description

Position Summary:

The Senior Consultant leads complex analytical and delivery work across Federal transformation engagements. This person frames problems, designs the work approach, facilitates stakeholders, integrates evidence, develops recommendations, and owns client-ready deliverables. Senior Consultants bring depth in one or more capability areas while remaining adaptable across requirements, acquisition, data, process, governance, change, performance, and delivery assignments.

Compensation & Benefits:

Starting Salary Range for Senior Consultant: $120,000 – $140,000

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities:

Includes the following:

  • Own complex work packages or major deliverable components from planning through client acceptance.
  • Translate ambiguous client questions into structured analyses, workplans, evidence needs, and decision points.
  • Plan and lead interviews, workshops, validation sessions, process reviews, and working meetings.
  • Analyze competing evidence, identify gaps and tradeoffs, and develop defensible findings and recommendations.
  • Create or tailor methods, templates, taxonomies, analytical criteria, quality checks, and performance measures.
  • Coordinate dependencies across mission, acquisition, financial, technology, data, and organizational stakeholders.
  • Draft and brief client-ready reports, roadmaps, dashboards, governance products, implementation plans, or executive decision materials.
  • Review and improve team work products; coach Consultants in analysis, writing, facilitation, and consulting judgment.
  • Manage risks, assumptions, decisions, and scope within the assigned work; escalate material issues promptly.
  • Develop capability across adjacent disciplines so the practice can redeploy talent as mission needs change.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

No supervisory/management authority

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience; advanced degree or relevant certification welcomed.
  • Typically 6–10 years of progressively responsible consulting, Federal delivery, analysis, transformation, acquisition, data, process, change, or program experience.
  • Demonstrated ownership of complex deliverables, stakeholder sessions, analyses, and recommendations.
  • Strong facilitation, analytical writing, executive communication, problem structuring, and quality-review skills.
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity, balance multiple priorities, and make sound recommendations using incomplete information.
  • Experience coaching or coordinating junior team members and collaborating across functional disciplines.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer; may occasionally require standing or moving about the office for extended periods.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Requirements development and management, business analysis, traceability, capability analysis, or systems analysis.
  • Data inventory, normalization, quality, analysis, visualization, dashboard design, Power BI, Tableau, Excel, SQL, or related tools.
  • Organizational change, stakeholder engagement, communications, facilitation, training, roadshows, or adoption measurement.
  • Program or project management, integrated scheduling, risk and dependency management, quality assurance, PWS development, or executive reporting.
  • DHS, CISA, cybersecurity, or another complex Federal mission environment; ability to obtain and maintain required suitability and access.
  • Federal acquisition, contracting, procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, or contract-portfolio analysis.
  • Experience leading complex change for Federal programs
  • Enterprise process improvement, operating-model design, governance, decision rights, performance measurement, or Lean Six Sigma.
  • Experience with process optimization a big plus.

Work Environment:

Work is performed primarily in a climate-controlled environment.
