Sap senior developer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a SAP Senior Developer based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to shape and deliver advanced SAP S/4HANA solutions within a fast-moving, innovative environment. You will serve as a technical leader responsible for designing scalable solutions that support critical business processes across manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and finance. The position combines hands-on development expertise with architecture, integration, and technical leadership responsibilities. You will help drive SAP modernization initiatives, global rollouts, system upgrades, and Clean Core development practices. Working closely with functional teams and technical stakeholders, you will transform business requirements into reliable, high-performing solutions.

Accountabilities:

The SAP Senior Developer will lead the design, development, and delivery of SAP S/4HANA solutions while ensuring technical excellence, scalability, and alignment with enterprise architecture standards. This role requires deep SAP expertise, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to guide complex development initiatives throughout the full software lifecycle.

• Lead end-to-end technical design and delivery of WRICEF objects, including Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows across ERP modules.
• Develop SAP S/4HANA solutions using ABAP, CDS Views, AMDP, RAP, and OData services to support modern enterprise applications.
• Design and implement custom approval workflows using SAP Flexible Workflow, including integrations with Fiori, SAP Inbox, and Outlook notifications.
• Architect and develop integrations using BAPIs, RFCs, ABAP Proxies, SOAP/REST services, OData, ALE, PI/PO, and SAP-to-non-SAP interfaces.
• Build enhancements using SAP frameworks such as BADIs, User Exits, Customer Exits, BTEs, BRF+, and SD/MM/FI extensions.
• Develop and maintain Smart Forms and Adobe Forms supporting business-critical processes.
• Lead S/4HANA upgrades, including SPAU/SPDD activities, custom code remediation, simplification analysis, and post-upgrade stabilization.
• Apply Clean Core principles by improving maintainability, performance, and quality through ATC checks, SCI variants, and code refactoring.
• Coordinate development activities, estimates, resource planning, and offshore team collaboration to ensure successful delivery.
• Partner with functional teams to evaluate requirements, perform gap analysis, and define effective technical solutions.
• Conduct code reviews, performance optimization, testing activities, and quality assurance for complex business processes.
• Provide production support, troubleshoot critical issues, deliver root-cause analysis, and mentor junior developers.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will bring extensive SAP development experience, strong technical leadership capabilities, and a proven ability to deliver complex enterprise solutions. This position requires expertise in SAP S/4HANA, integrations, development frameworks, and full lifecycle implementation environments.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience, including experience serving in a technical lead capacity.
• Proven experience with SAP full lifecycle implementations, upgrades, and global rollouts.
• Strong expertise in S/4HANA development technologies, including ABAP, CDS Views, AMDP, RAP, and OData.
• Extensive WRICEF experience across reporting, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and workflows.
• Hands-on experience designing SAP Workflow and Flexible Workflow approval processes.
• Strong integration experience using BAPIs, RFCs, ABAP Proxies, Web Services, OData, and ALE/PI/PO.
• Experience with SAP Enhancement Framework, including BADIs, exits, BTEs, BRF+, and SD/MM/FI integration points.
• Experience supporting S/4HANA upgrades, including SPAU/SPDD, ATC remediation, and Simplification Item analysis.
• Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies and full software development lifecycle processes.
• Proven ability to coordinate with system integrators and manage delivery timelines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Experience developing Fiori applications and OData services is preferred.
• Familiarity with MES-to-SAP integrations, intercompany processes, SAP Security, role management, and authorization concepts is a plus.
• Exposure to event-driven architectures and SAP-to-cloud integrations is beneficial.
• Experience integrating SAP with platforms such as Workday, Coupa, and Azure is preferred.
• Master’s degree in computing or software-related disciplines is a plus.
