Job Description

Introduction

Hemisphere Talent Solutions has partnered with a well-established CPA firm based in Atlanta, Georgia, that is looking to expand its team with experienced Remote Tax Accountants. Please note: This role requires previous experience preparing and reviewing US tax returns. Candidates without prior US tax experience will not be considered.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative, client-focused firm that values technical excellence, professional development, and long-term career growth. You will work directly with US clients, manage complex tax engagements, provide strategic tax planning advice, and mentor junior team members. As you will be supporting clients on the US East Coast, this role will generally require you to work East Coast business hours (approximately 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm SAST, depending on daylight saving time).

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review complex US tax returns for businesses, individuals, trusts, and nonprofit organisations.
  • Develop proactive tax planning strategies that help clients minimise tax liabilities while maintaining full compliance.
  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients by providing exceptional service and professional advice.
  • Mentor, coach, and support junior team members, fostering technical development and continuous improvement.
  • Stay up to date with changes in US tax legislation and communicate relevant updates and planning opportunities to clients and colleagues.
  • Collaborate closely with firm leadership to improve processes, strengthen client relationships, and contribute to the continued success of the practice.
  • Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously while ensuring deadlines and quality standards are consistently achieved.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • CA(SA), SAIPA Professional Accountant, Registered Tax Practitioner, or an equivalent accounting/tax qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in public accounting tax.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing US tax returns (or significant exposure to US tax engagements).
  • Strong knowledge of US federal tax regulations and compliance.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and client relationship management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining exceptional accuracy.

Package & Remuneration

This is a great opportunity to join a respected US CPA firm and gain exposure to a diverse portfolio of clients across a wide range of industries. You'll work alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative environment that encourages continuous learning, professional growth, and career progression. For the right candidate, this role also offers a clear pathway into leadership, with the potential to grow into a Team Manager position as the firm continues to expand. Interested?
