Job Description

Project Coordinator / Manager

Work Location: Remote - USA

Schedule: Part time

To advance the purpose of InterVarsity, the position will provide efficient project management (PM) and development of projects/programs, as assigned.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Personal:

  • Be a maturing disciple of Jesus Christ: growing in love for God, God's Word, God's people of every ethnicity and culture, and God's purposes in the world
  • Be a lifelong learner who prizes the discipleship of the mind; particularly staying current on issues of project management, process improvement, and business practices within ministry

Professional:

This role provides scheduling, meeting logistics, and documentation support across the Student Data Program while the program's project manager is on maternity leave. It is a coordination role, not a decision making or project oversight role. The person in this seat keeps the operational rhythm of meetings running so the program's three work streams, the App, Governance, and Model projects, do not stall on coordination gaps while the PM is out.

Coordination Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate recurring and ad hoc meetings across the program, prioritizing App team meetings such as pilot and testing setup sessions, build check ins, and stakeholder feedback sessions
  • Provide coordination support for Governance and Model project meetings as needed
  • Track pilot participant logistics as needed, including National Staff Orientation dates and survey distribution timing, attendees, recording and notes distribution
  • Active oversight of Teams channel, tracking questions and making sure answers are communicated

Provide project management support through planning, developing, and evaluating projects:

  • Develop and oversee projects as assigned, including coordination of project work with staff, leaders, and external consultants
  • Maintain a running log of open items, decisions, and action owners surfaced in meetings, to support a clean handoff back to the returning project manager
  • Document preparation and content management
  • Report metrics and project tracking data to PMO on an ongoing basis

Partnership and collaboration:

  • Participate in meetings within functional department, as well as interdepartmental meetings in the broader InterVarsity community upon request
  • High-level of collaboration with cross-functional team members or leaders
  • Assist in ensuring adherence to national policies, procedures, and reporting requirements
  • Be a Project Management ambassador across organization, always looking for opportunities to learn PM best practices
  • Senior roles will provide mentorship to other project management staff
  • Matrix or direct reporting to Program Management Office (depending on functional area assignment)
  • Involvement in project management co-cohort is required for most positions

Pay Range:

$45,324.00 - $60,420.00 per year

Benefits:

We offer a competitive benefits package, including health care and retirement savings with a match. Eligibility is based on employee type and hours worked. Benefits include the following:

  • 403(b) Retirement Savings Plan
  • 403(b) matching contributions
  • Dental insurance
  • Employee assistance program
  • Employee discounts
  • Flexible work schedule
  • Flexible spending accounts
  • Health insurance
  • Health savings account
  • Life insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Parental leave
  • Professional development assistance
  • Vision insurance

Equal Employment Opportunity:

InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA is both an equal opportunity employer and a faith-based religious organization. We conduct hiring without regard to race, color, ancestry, national origin, citizenship, age, sex, marital status, parental status, membership in any labor organization, political ideology, or disability of an otherwise qualified individual. The status of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA as an equal opportunity employer does not prevent the organization from hiring staff based on their religious beliefs so that all staff share the same religious commitment. Pursuant to the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Section 702 (42 U.S.C. 2000e 1(a)) InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA has the right to, and does, hire only candidates who agree with InterVarsity’s Statement of Agreement: Purpose and Doctrinal Basis because InterVarsity believes that each and every staff plays a vital role in advancing InterVarsity’s mission and purposes.

There are over 2500 campuses in the US with more than 1000 students, and the majority of them have no known Christian ministry. Gen Z is curious and open to exploring their faith, but they need someone to guide them. InterVarsity wants to reach the campus with the Good News, disciple students through Scripture and service, and equip them as leaders and tomorrow’s world-changers. If you have a heart for students and faculty — one of the most strategic callings you could ever pursue — join our team! Serve on campus, in our national offices, at our publishing firm (InterVarsity Press), or in national leadership roles. InterVarsity is a vibrant campus ministry that longs to give college students and faculty the chance to grow in their faith. We work to establish witnessing communities on campus where students and faculty can pursue God, God's word, God's people of every ethnicity and culture, and God's purposes in the world.
