JOB TITLE - Sr HR Consultant

LOCATION - Oakland CA - hybrid

Rate: 40 hourly to 47 hourly

5 months project with possibility of extension

PREFERENCE IS CANDIDATES WITHIN CLIENT SERVICE TERRITORY BUT OPEN TO OUTSIDE SERVICE TERRITORY. ASSIGNMENT IS HYBRID OR FULLY REMOTE (DEPENDING ON CHOSEN CANDIDATE RESIDENCE.)

CLIENT LAPTOP & CELL PHONE WILL BE ISSUED AND NO USING OF PERSONAL DEVICE. ANY OTHER ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT NEEDED TO BE PROVIDED BY SUPPLIER.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Provides consulting and guidance to CLIENT leaders and employees on performance management process. Collaborates with leaders in developing action/improvement plans to address performance gaps. Interprets CLIENT policies and procedures for specific situations. Initiates collection of information and research for HR Managers, Directors, subject matter experts or the Law Department when a problem warrants an escalation due to complexity or sensitivity. Collaborates with HR team and line of business clients to ensure root cause is identified for full resolution. Follows-up with HR team and line of business clients to ensure solution is completed and problem has been addressed. Conducts internal investigations in response to complaints - working directly with leaders and employees through interviews and information gathering - in support of workplace issue resolution process. Summarizes event facts and analysis for review and submission to EEO Investigators, Law Department, HR and CLIENT. May also perform HR Business Partner duties such as, senior leader advice and counsel, HR program delivery (succession planning, annual pay process, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications

Required

  • B.A. in Business or Social Sciences
  • 3 to 6 years of experience working in Human Resources, with 2+ years in an increasing responsible role as a lead or specialist
  • Experience in employees relations and conflict resolution
  • Experience in diagnosing and resolving performance issues
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of California labor law and federal employment regulations
