This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead Business Systems Engineer based in United States.
This role is a hands-on technical leadership opportunity within Revenue Operations, focused on building and scaling the systems that power the full lead-to-order lifecycle. You will design, develop, and maintain complex Salesforce solutions and integrations across marketing, sales, contracting, finance, and billing platforms. The position combines application engineering, architecture fluency, technical debt remediation, security, and cross-functional problem-solving. You will take ownership of complex production challenges and turn business requirements into reliable, maintainable solutions. The role also offers the opportunity to introduce practical AI capabilities into go-to-market workflows, including intelligent assistants and automation. Success means delivering systems that are trusted, scalable, secure, and genuinely useful to teams across the organization.
Accountabilities:
- Develop a deep understanding of the lead-to-order architecture, including data models, integration patterns, automation, security, and platform dependencies, and build solutions within established architectural standards.
- Design, develop, and deploy complex applications and solutions across Salesforce and connected platforms using declarative automation, Apex, Lightning components, and supporting data models where appropriate.
- Lead remediation of critical technical debt by simplifying brittle automation, consolidating redundant objects and fields, and replacing temporary workarounds with maintainable solutions.
- Serve as the technical lead for cross-functional business systems initiatives, managing requirements, development, testing, deployment, and cutover activities for platform migrations and new technology rollouts.
- Build and maintain reliable integrations and APIs connecting marketing, sales, contracting, finance, and other business systems, with strong observability, testing, and documentation.
- Apply governance and security standards across environment strategy, release management, role-based access, field-level security, and logical data segmentation, particularly for regulated and federal business environments.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Customer Experience, and IT Security to translate operational requirements into effective technical solutions while identifying potential long-term platform risks.
- Develop and implement AI capabilities within go-to-market workflows, including agents, CRM-connected assistants, and intelligent automation, with appropriate validation and controls.
- Act as a senior technical resource for the Business Systems team through hands-on troubleshooting, code and configuration reviews, documentation improvements, and stronger change-management practices.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience building business systems or go-to-market platforms, with deep hands-on experience across lead-to-order or quote-to-cash environments.
- Advanced Salesforce development expertise, with Sales Cloud required; experience with Apex, Lightning components, and CPQ is highly valuable.
- Strong hands-on development capabilities across declarative automation, Apex or equivalent development technologies, REST/SOAP APIs, and integration platforms or middleware.
- Working knowledge of adjacent enterprise systems, including marketing automation, sales engagement, contract lifecycle management/e-signature, and ERP integration patterns.
- Proven track record of delivering complex solutions and resolving significant technical debt within live production environments.
- Security-conscious development practices, including role-based access, field-level security, and data segmentation for regulated environments; federal or public-sector experience is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical design tradeoffs to executives and detailed configuration decisions to administrators and technical teams.
- Strong ownership mindset, high standards for platform quality, and the ability to take initiative and drive work forward independently.
- Genuine interest in AI and practical experience using AI tools, with a clear perspective on how AI can be responsibly incorporated into go-to-market systems.
- Salesforce Platform Developer certification is a plus.
- Experience in cybersecurity, operational technology, or industrial environments is a plus.
Benefits:
- Base salary of $186,000.
- Competitive equity package.
- Comprehensive benefits plan.
- Remote work environment.
- Opportunity to work on systems supporting critical infrastructure and cybersecurity operations.
- Hands-on exposure to AI-enabled go-to-market technologies and enterprise-scale business systems.
