Job Description

Junior Power BI Dashboard Developer — Marketing Performance Analytics

The Performance Analytics and Insights team sits within Marketing and is responsible for turning campaign, customer, and channel data into clear, actionable insight for stakeholders across the business. We build the dashboards and data models that marketing leadership relies on to make decisions. Over the next six months, we're focused on migrating our dashboard backend to Snowflake and consolidating a sprawling set of existing dashboards into a cleaner, more maintainable suite.

Role Overview

We're hiring a Junior Power BI Dashboard Developer for a 6-month remote engagement to support two major initiatives: migrating existing Power BI dashboards to run on a Snowflake backend, and consolidating overlapping/redundant dashboards into a streamlined, well-modeled reporting suite. This is a great opportunity for someone who is confident writing SQL and building in Power BI, and who can ramp up quickly and work independently with minimal day-to-day oversight. You'll get hands-on exposure across the full stack — from SQL against Snowflake, to data modeling, to dashboard design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the migration of existing dashboard backends to Snowflake, including rewriting/adapting SQL queries and rebuilding data connections.
  • Audit and consolidate existing Power BI dashboards — identifying overlap, redundant reports, and inconsistent metrics, and rationalizing them into a single, trusted set of dashboards.
  • Write clean, efficient SQL against Snowflake to extract, transform, and stage marketing performance data.
  • Build and refine Power BI data models (relationships, star schema, DAX measures) that are scalable and easy to maintain post-migration.
  • Design and develop Power BI dashboard front ends that are intuitive, accurate, and performant for marketing stakeholders.
  • Validate data accuracy between legacy dashboards and newly migrated/consolidated versions to ensure a smooth cutover.
  • Document data models, dashboard logic, and migration decisions so the team can maintain the work going forward.
  • Quickly learn existing marketing data structures, reporting conventions, and stakeholder needs with limited ramp-up support.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Solid working knowledge of SQL (joins, aggregations, filtering, basic query optimization).
  • Hands-on experience building data models in Power BI (relationships, basic DAX).
  • Experience designing Power BI dashboard front ends (report layout, visuals, slicers, basic interactivity).
  • Some exposure to Snowflake or another cloud data warehouse (Redshift, BigQuery, Azure Synapse, etc.) strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage own workload with minimal supervision, especially important given the remote, time-limited nature of the role.
  • Fast learner who can ramp up quickly on new data sources, tools, and business context.
  • Strong attention to detail — this role involves validating data accuracy during migration and consolidation.
  • Good written communication skills for a remote, largely asynchronous working environment.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Prior exposure to a marketing analytics function.
  • Familiarity with migrating BI tools/reports between database backends.
  • Basic understanding of Power Query (M language) for data transformation.
  • Coursework, certifications, or personal projects demonstrating SQL and Power BI proficiency.
