Job Description

Codeworks, a LRS Company, is seeking a Java Developer for a long-term contract opportunity. This role offers the opportunity to work on the development, enhancement, and support of mission-critical web applications while contributing to modernization initiatives utilizing Java, JavaScript, and modern web technologies.

The successful candidate will collaborate with architects, business stakeholders, quality assurance teams, and fellow developers in an Agile environment to deliver secure, high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, maintain, and support Java and JavaScript web applications.
• Participate as a developer and code reviewer on Agile project teams.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, refine, and implement requirements.
• Design and develop application enhancements for existing systems and new solutions.
• Create prototypes and proof-of-concept applications to evaluate technical approaches.
• Implement secure, scalable, and maintainable application code.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, standups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Work closely with Quality Assurance teams to deliver thoroughly tested software.
• Support implementation of modern technologies and frameworks, including Spring Boot and ReactJS.
• Contribute to SDLC improvements, coding standards, and development best practices.

Additional Experience

• Experience developing web-based applications.
• Experience working with modern Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices.
• Experience implementing unit tests and supporting software quality initiatives.
• Experience documenting technical requirements, processes, or application functionality.
• Experience working within Agile development environments.
• Experience using Git or other source control tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

This position is 100% remote within Wisconsin. Candidates must currently reside in Wisconsin; relocation is not permitted.

The base range for this contract position is $45.00 - $60.00 per hour, depending on experience. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all U.S. locations. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors.
