Summary:

Key member of the Technology Business Management team, owning relationships with key stakeholders and business owners within the Information Services vertical. Works with TBM technology to bring information to end users and business owners to provide transparency and information to allow business decisions. Assist business owners and IT leadership in aligning IT plans to organizational needs or changing business priorities. Improve cross-functional planning, agility, and transparency. TBM Technology-Specific Requirements: Collaborate with IT Finance on IT Total Cost of Ownership, Financial metrics, and cost transparency initiatives. Develop measurable performance indicators. Direct report to the Director IS Business Relationships and must be capable of effectively driving innovation and change. Will be required to step into the role of Director of IS Business Relationships when this individual is not present.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage relationships with IT business units.
  • Consult with business units and review IT usage, services, technology, and department-specific projects to identify, forecast and develop IT plans.
  • Participate and drive the development of the business case packet, seeking to “tell the financial story.”
  • Analyze and report operational and financial impacts of vendors, products and services.
  • Works with IT leaders to find the right organizational design to drive business-outcomes.
  • Strong financial analysis expertise, including forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and trend/risk identification.
  • Ability to analyze actual spend and translate findings into accurate financial forecasts and executive-level insights.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, including General Ledger activity, accruals, prepaid expenses, amortization, journal entries, reclasses, fiscal year-end close, and expense recognition.
  • Ability to investigate and explain the business rationale behind financial transactions and accounting activity.
  • Proven ability to adjust forecasts based on actual spend, payment timing changes, delayed invoicing, and evolving business conditions.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify root causes of variances, financial anomalies, and unsupported assumptions.
  • Comfortable challenging assumptions and assessing whether variances represent timing differences, savings opportunities, or ongoing financial risks.
  • Effective business partner with experience collaborating across Accounting, Accounts Payable, Procurement, IT Leadership, Vendor Management, and Budget Owners.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, critical thinking, problem-solving ability, and intellectual curiosity. Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and follow-through.

Success Factors

  • Maintain accurate rolling forecasts throughout the fiscal year.
  • Quickly identify, explain, and resolve forecast and budget variances.
  • Detect accounting irregularities that may impact financial reporting and forecasts.
  • Deliver reliable financial projections that support executive decision-making.
  • Build annual budgets based on realistic, supportable, and data-driven assumptions.

How You’ll Be Successful:

WORK EXPERIENCE

At least 5 years Operational experience supporting operational leaders / teams. Proven track record of increasing areas of responsibility and effective relationship building. Required

EDUCATION

Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Required
