Job Description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Investment Banking Expert based in the United States. This remote contract opportunity is designed for experienced investment banking professionals who want to apply their expertise to the development and evaluation of advanced AI systems. You’ll help establish rigorous standards for what high-quality investment banking work should look like across financial models, valuations, transaction materials, and presentations. The role combines deep technical banking knowledge with structured evaluation and written analysis. You’ll review both AI-generated and human-produced work, identify errors and gaps, and explain your assessments clearly. Your judgment will contribute to improving how AI systems understand real-world investment banking workflows and professional standards.

The environment is flexible, project-based, and well suited to professionals who value analytical rigor, precision, and meaningful work at the intersection of finance and AI.

Accountabilities

  • Develop detailed, task-specific grading criteria for investment banking deliverables, including financial models, valuation analyses, pitch books, CIMs, transaction materials, deal memoranda, and board or investment committee presentations.
  • Evaluate AI-generated and human-produced banking work against established criteria, providing clear, evidence-based written explanations for each assessment.
  • Assess deliverables for accuracy, completeness, analytical rigor, presentation quality, formatting, consistency, and alignment with professional investment banking standards.
  • Identify financial and analytical errors, flawed assumptions, inconsistencies, formatting problems, and gaps in reasoning that could compromise the quality of a work product.
  • Apply objective and consistent judgment so evaluation results remain reproducible, defensible, and relevant to real-world banking practices.
  • Translate practical investment banking expertise and professional judgment into clear standards that can be used for AI evaluation and training.
  • Incorporate feedback from senior reviewers and refine scoring frameworks and evaluation methodologies over time.
  • Collaborate with other experienced professionals to calibrate assessments and maintain consistency across evaluation activities.
  • Contribute to assigned AI research and evaluation projects while protecting the confidentiality of any current or former employer, client, or institutional information.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional investment banking experience, preferably at the Associate level or above.
  • Experience with a leading global investment bank, elite advisory boutique, or comparable financial institution.
  • Background in M&A, investment banking coverage, capital markets, or a closely related area.
  • Strong technical command of three-statement financial modeling, DCF valuation, LBO modeling, comparable company analysis, precedent transactions, merger modeling, and transaction valuation.
  • Experience producing or reviewing professional banking deliverables such as pitch books, CIMs, deal-process documentation, board materials, and investment committee presentations.
  • Strong understanding of the accuracy, analytical quality, formatting, and presentation standards expected in professional investment banking.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate why a deliverable meets or falls short of professional standards.
  • Highly detail-oriented and consistent, with strong analytical judgment and the ability to apply structured evaluation criteria objectively.
  • Comfortable receiving feedback, comparing judgments with other experienced professionals, and adapting to calibrated evaluation frameworks.
  • Prior experience in AI training, model evaluation, data annotation, or human-data projects is a strong advantage.
  • Strong ability to work independently in a remote, project-based environment.
  • Applicants must be based in the United States and should not require H-1B or STEM OPT sponsorship.

Benefits

  • Compensation of $150–$220 per hour, depending on qualifications and project requirements.
  • Fully remote independent contractor opportunity.
  • Flexible scheduling designed to accommodate professional availability.
  • Project duration and workload may vary according to program needs and performance.
  • Opportunity to apply investment banking expertise to advanced AI research and evaluation.
  • Exposure to emerging AI training and model-evaluation methodologies.
  • Work focused on specialized evaluation and research activities rather than traditional banking execution.
  • Weekly payments through available payment platforms based on completed services.
  • No requirement to provide access to confidential or proprietary information from current or former employers, clients, or institutions.
  • Qualified applicants may complete a brief technical or domain-specific assessment as part of the selection process.
