Symmetrio is recruiting for our client, an innovative healthcare technology organization dedicated to improving patient outcomes through advanced clinical data and technology solutions. We are seeking an experienced Integration Engineer Lead to oversee the design, development, and support of complex healthcare data integrations while providing technical leadership to a team of integration professionals.
This is a highly visible role that combines hands-on engineering responsibilities with team leadership, driving interoperability initiatives across healthcare systems and ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable data exchange. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in healthcare integration technologies, interoperability standards, and interface engine development, along with a passion for mentoring teams and improving operational excellence.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
5+ years of experience developing and supporting healthcare data integrations or interface solutions
Previous experience leading, mentoring, or providing technical guidance to engineering teams
Strong knowledge of HL7 v2 messaging standards, including ADT, ORM, ORU, and SIU message types
Experience working with FHIR standards and healthcare interoperability frameworks
Hands-on experience with integration engines such as Mirth Connect, Iguana, or similar platforms
Strong proficiency with RESTful APIs and healthcare data exchange methodologies
Experience developing scripts and integrations using JavaScript or similar scripting languages
Working knowledge of Linux/UNIX and Windows environments
Familiarity with EMR systems, healthcare data structures, and clinical workflows
Understanding of HIPAA requirements and healthcare data security best practices
Knowledge of cloud-based integration concepts and modern interoperability architectures
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and collaboration abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
