The HR Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic partner to business leaders, aligning people strategy with organizational goals. Acting as a trusted advisor across a designated client group, the HRBP delivers guidance on talent management, employee relations, organizational design, and workforce planning. This role blends strategic consulting with hands-on execution to build engaged, high-performing teams.

Essential Job Functions

Strategic Partnership

  • Partner with leaders to translate business objectives into people strategies covering talent, structure, and culture.
  • Use workforce data and analytics to identify trends, surface risks, and recommend proactive solutions.
  • Advise on organizational design, restructuring, and change management initiatives.

Talent Management

  • Support performance management cycles, including goal setting, calibration, and development planning.
  • Partner with talent acquisition on workforce planning and critical hiring needs.
  • Identify high-potential talent and help build succession and development plans.

Employee Relations

  • Serve as the point of contact for employee relations matters, conducting fair and thorough investigations.
  • Coach managers on handling performance, conduct, and interpersonal issues consistently and compliantly.
  • Interpret and apply HR policies, ensuring alignment with employment law and company values.

Engagement and Culture

  • Champion initiatives that strengthen engagement, retention, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Analyze engagement survey results and partner with leaders on action planning.
  • Reinforce company values and support a positive, productive work environment.

Compensation and Operations

  • Partner with Total Rewards on compensation reviews, promotions, and equity considerations.
  • Guide managers through annual processes such as merit cycles and promotions.
  • Ensure accurate data and partner with HR operations on process improvements.

Payroll

  • Provide oversight of the company’s payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely payroll execution.
  • Supervise and support the Payroll Specialist, including performance management, training, workflow coordination, and professional development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including 2+ years in an HRBP or generalist advisory role.
  • Working knowledge of employment law and HR compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching and influencing managers and senior leaders.
  • Strong track record managing employee relations matters with sound judgment and discretion.

Desired Qualifications

  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP).
  • Experience supporting a fast-paced or high-growth environment.
  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors) and people analytics tools.
  • Experience with organizational design and large-scale change initiatives.
