About The Job Bridge We build tech that puts people with disabilities first—bridges, not barriers. Our platform helps job developers and employers connect with care, security, and real outcomes.
The mission for this role Own the web stack through three phases:
What you’ll do Refactor and modernize front-end and back-end components (performance, reliability, readability). Implement accessibility patterns (aim WCAG 2.2 AA ): keyboard nav, ARIA, captions/transcripts, color contrast, focus states. Ship secure code: no secrets in repos, least-privilege configs, fix vulns (OWASP Top 10), write crisp PRs with tests. Build with empathy: clear UX copy, inclusive flows, and a bias to reduce friction for participants and job developers. Participate in code reviews, CI checks (SAST/DAST/dependency scanning), and monitoring/rollback basics. Collaborate async across time zones; document decisions; communicate early and often.
You’ll thrive here if you have 3+ years full-stack experience (e.g., React/Next or similar; Node/Express or similar; SQL/NoSQL; REST/JSON; bonus for TypeScript). A track record delivering accessible interfaces and writing tests. Solid security hygiene (MFA everywhere, secret vaults, no prod data on laptops). Comfort with Git workflows (branch protection, PR reviews, CI/CD) and issue tracking. A human-first mindset—respectful comms, crisp docs, and accountability.
Nice to have Experience with cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure), Vercel/Netlify, auth flows, and instrumentation (logs/metrics). Prior work with public-sector or human-services programs. Familiarity with data privacy regimes (US multi-state, GDPR/UK-GDPR concepts).
How we work & tools Git + PR reviews, ticketing, CI/CD, secrets vault, and a friendly documentation ritual. We’re remote-native with a small overlap in US ET.
Classification & pay transparency This is a contract role with phase-based compensation.
Accessibility & accommodations We aim for WCAG 2.2 AA. Need an adjustment to apply or interview? Email helpdesk@thejobbridge.com —we’ll make it work.
