Job Description

Company: Learntastic

Location: Remote - United States only

Commitment: Part-time / Fractional, ~20 hours per week

Compensation: $5,000–$7,000 per month (DOE)

Reports to: CEO / Founder

About Learntastic

Learntastic is on a mission to make learning engaging, accessible, and effective. We're looking for a hands-on, strategic marketing leader to help us sharpen our brand, grow our audience, and drive measurable growth — without the cost of a full-time executive hire.

The Role

We're seeking an experienced Fractional CMO to own our marketing strategy and execution on a part-time basis. This is an ideal role for a senior marketing leader who wants the strategic scope of a CMO position with the flexibility of a fractional engagement. You'll work closely with the founder/CEO and a small internal team (and/or outside contractors/agencies) to set direction, prioritize initiatives, and drive results.

What You'll Do

Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and own the overall marketing strategy aligned with company goals and growth stage
  • Define target audience segments, positioning, and messaging
  • Set marketing budget priorities and allocate resources for maximum ROI

Brand & Content

  • Guide brand voice, visual identity, and messaging consistency across channels
  • Oversee content strategy (blog, video, social, email) to build audience trust and engagement

Growth & Demand Generation

  • Lead customer acquisition strategy across paid, organic, and lifecycle channels
  • Identify and prioritize highest-leverage growth channels for the current stage of the business
  • Set and track KPIs (CAC, LTV, conversion rates, funnel metrics)

Team & Vendor Management

  • Manage relationships with agencies, freelancers, or in-house marketing hires
  • Provide direction and feedback to contractors handling execution (design, ads, SEO, etc.)

Reporting & Optimization

  • Establish reporting cadence and dashboards for marketing performance
  • Present regular updates to leadership on progress against goals
  • Continuously test, learn, and optimize campaigns

What We're Looking For

  • 8+ years of marketing experience, including senior/leadership roles (VP, Director, or CMO level)
  • Required: Proven marketing leadership experience in EdTech and/or SaaS (B2B or B2C) — please only apply if you have direct experience in one or both of these spaces
  • Demonstrated success transitioning organizations from paid-acquisition dependency to sustainable organic growth (SEO, content, community, referral, etc.)
  • Strong grasp of both brand marketing and performance marketing
  • Comfortable being hands-on — this role blends strategy with execution, especially in a lean team environment
  • Experience managing agencies, freelancers, or small marketing teams
  • Data-driven approach with fluency in marketing analytics tools
  • Excellent communication skills; able to work autonomously and report clearly to leadership
  • Must be based in the United States and authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Available for ~20 hours/week with flexibility to align with team working hours

Nice to Have

  • Experience scaling an early-stage or bootstrapped company
  • Existing network of trusted freelancers/agencies for design, paid media, SEO, etc.

Compensation & Terms

  • Rate: $5,000–$7,000/month, commensurate with experience
  • Hours: ~20 hours/week (flexible schedule)
  • Engagement type: Contract / fractional (1099), not a full-time employee role
  • Location: Remote, U.S.-based candidates only
