Position Location: Remote - work virtually from anywhere in the United States

This position is in DLB’s Mission Critical Department and focuses primarily on hyperscale data centers and related mission critical facilities.
The Electrical Engineer II will have the opportunity to work with and collaborate with senior design staff to advance their lighting design and controls skills. They will learn, through hands-on application, how to design a wide variety of mission critical projects. This person will work as part of the Engineering Team and interact closely with the Project Management Team to produce construction documents, perform illumination calculations, develop and edit project specifications, and assist in the construction administration process.
The Electrical Engineer II will receive general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments. May work independently, consistently exercising discretion and independent judgment on individual work, or may work under immediate supervision. May serve as trade lead on routine projects of limited scope.
The Electrical Engineer II will communicate and operate in line with organizational goals and values, as well as departmental objectives.

Identify opportunities to improve processes and demonstrate a continuous learning mindset, seeking out new technologies, skills, and methods that elevate individual and team performance. Adapt to emerging technologies and evolving digital workflows, actively supporting the integration and adoption of innovative tools across the organization.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position, frequently moving through office, facility and other environments. On occasion the employee may move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
Approximately 10%, this may include travel to any or all 50 US states. Travel is defined as physically leaving home on behalf of business activities including but not limited to client sites, meetings with other employees, meeting for business development purposes, running errands on behalf of the business, attending industry conferences, etc.
Bachelor’s degree in electrical from ABET accredited institution, with a sound knowledge of engineering fundamentals PLUS Minimum of three years of electrical engineering / lighting design experience.
