Job Overview
The District Sales Manager (DSM) is responsible for driving sales growth and expanding Hayward's market share throughout the North Ohio and western Pennsylvania territory. This field-based role partners closely with pool builders, service companies, retailers, and distribution partners to develop strong customer relationships, identify new business opportunities, and provide product and technical support. The DSM serves as the local face of Hayward, helping customers grow their business while increasing adoption of Hayward products and solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow an assigned territory by developing relationships with builders, service professionals, dealers, retailers, and distributors.
- Drive revenue growth through new business development and expansion of existing customer accounts.
- Conduct regular customer visits, business reviews, and joint sales calls with distributor partners.
- Educate customers on Hayward's products through presentations, demonstrations, and training events.
- Identify competitive opportunities and execute strategies to increase market share.
- Work cross-functionally with Technical Services, Marketing, Customer Care, and Product Management to support customers.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline, forecast opportunities, and document customer activity in Salesforce.
- Represent Hayward at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings.
- Manage territory planning and prioritize activities to achieve sales goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent sales experience.
- 3+ years of outside B2B sales or territory management experience.
- Experience working with distributors, dealers, contractors, or builders preferred.
- Pool, spa, outdoor living, construction, or related industry experience is highly preferred.
- Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop new business while growing existing accounts.
- Technical aptitude with the ability to learn and present product solutions.
- Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce is preferred.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the North Ohio and western PA territory, with occasional overnight travel.
