District sales manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a District Sales Manager based in United States.

This role leads sales growth across an assigned territory within the security and connected-home market. You will build trusted relationships with security dealers, distributors, contractors, and other channel partners. The position combines territory ownership, consultative selling, new business development, and customer engagement. You will identify opportunities, lead contractor conversions, and promote integrated security products and software solutions. The role is highly visible and hands-on, with participation in sales meetings, trade shows, trainings, and industry events. You will also use CRM data, competitive intelligence, and market insights to strengthen pipeline management and forecasting. Success requires commercial drive, technical understanding, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to operate autonomously.

Accountabilities

• Own sales activities and growth initiatives across an assigned geographical territory, developing demand for security products and software solutions.
• Identify, develop, and lead large contractor conversion opportunities from prospecting through close.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with security dealers, distributors, contractors, and channel partners through consistent, value-focused engagement.
• Conduct opportunity-advancing sales calls and identify new opportunities for product adoption, account expansion, and revenue growth.
• Demonstrate and sell end-to-end security solutions, adapting presentations and recommendations to customer needs and business objectives.
• Educate contractors and distributor personnel on products, solutions, capabilities, and value propositions.
• Represent the organization at dealer meetings, trade shows, contractor trainings, and other industry events.
• Manage opportunities, customer interactions, pipeline activity, and forecasting through Salesforce or comparable CRM systems.
• Gather competitive intelligence and monitor market trends, customer needs, and emerging opportunities within the territory.
• Provide accurate demand and sales forecast inputs to support business planning and strategic decision-making.
• Maintain a highly visible presence within the assigned market while independently organizing schedules and prioritizing sales activities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of outside sales experience, preferably in a B2B environment.
• At least 2 years of experience in the security industry or a closely related field.
• At least 1 year of experience using CRM software, with Salesforce experience strongly valued.
• Experience managing territories and following a structured sales process from opportunity identification through conversion.
• Knowledge of security products, technical solutions, contractor business models, or related channel environments.
• Experience with two-step distribution and multi-channel sales environments is desirable.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confidence presenting to customers, partners, and industry audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders across different organizational levels and build long-term commercial relationships.
• Strong initiative and self-management skills, with the ability to work effectively with limited direction and significant autonomy.
• Analytical and commercially minded approach, with the ability to interpret market trends, competitive information, pipeline data, and customer needs.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory.
• Ability to be based in or near the Long Island / five boroughs area is preferred for this territory.
