Job Description

We're seeking an experienced infrastructure leader to oversee the strategy, delivery, and ongoing operation of enterprise infrastructure services across a hybrid cloud environment. This individual will be responsible for ensuring highly available, secure, and scalable platforms while leading a team of engineers supporting cloud technologies, networking, identity, databases, and core infrastructure services. The ideal candidate is both a technical leader and operational strategist who thrives in complex environments, drives process improvements, and builds high-performing teams. This role partners closely with cybersecurity, application development, and IT operations leadership to deliver reliable infrastructure that supports business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team responsible for enterprise infrastructure engineering and operations.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of infrastructure platforms spanning public cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Ensure high levels of availability, reliability, performance, scalability, and security across critical infrastructure services.
  • Establish operational standards, governance, and best practices for infrastructure engineering and support.
  • Manage enterprise compute, networking, storage, identity management, database platforms, and shared technology services.
  • Drive disaster recovery planning, testing, and business continuity initiatives to ensure organizational resilience.
  • Oversee relationships with third-party infrastructure and managed service providers, ensuring strong service delivery and adherence to contractual commitments.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for major infrastructure incidents, coordinating cross-functional response and resolution efforts.
  • Develop and execute the long-term infrastructure roadmap while aligning technology investments with business objectives.
  • Champion automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, and standardized deployment practices to improve efficiency and operational consistency.
  • Provide governance over deployment processes and release management to support stable production environments.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, and simplify support models.
  • Partner with finance and technology leadership to manage infrastructure budgets, cloud spending, capacity planning, and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Collaborate with architecture, security, and software engineering teams to ensure infrastructure solutions are scalable, resilient, and support future business needs.
  • Provide operational guidance during solution design to ensure new technologies are supportable and aligned with enterprise standards.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience supporting enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, and IT operations.
  • At least 7 years of leadership experience managing infrastructure or platform engineering teams.
  • Strong background supporting hybrid cloud environments, enterprise networking, compute platforms, and identity services.
  • Experience managing outsourced service providers and holding vendors accountable for operational performance.
  • Demonstrated success leading production operations, incident response, and service reliability initiatives.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence across technical and business teams.
  • Experience leading operational transformation efforts and implementing scalable processes within complex organizations.
  • Proven ability to establish ownership, accountability, and operational discipline across teams.
  • Comfortable making critical decisions and leading through high-impact production issues.
  • Experience developing infrastructure standards, governance models, and operational best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building and developing high-performing infrastructure engineering organizations.
  • Hands-on knowledge of infrastructure automation and Infrastructure-as-Code technologies.
  • Experience implementing enterprise disaster recovery and resiliency programs.
  • Familiarity with cloud financial management, budgeting, and cost optimization practices.
  • Background improving managed service delivery models and vendor governance.
  • Experience supporting modern enterprise environments utilizing leading public cloud platforms, Windows and Linux systems, identity management solutions, and enterprise networking technologies.
