The Global Future Workforce team is at the forefront of shaping how the next generation of engineers, technologists, and industry professionals develop the digital mindsets and skillsets needed to drive transformation. Through innovative programs — including quality-assured microcredentials, the Expedite – Skills for Industry program, the Student Ambassador Program, and the Immersive Design Challenge — we build bridges between academic learning and real-world industry application. We partner with leading universities, global enterprises like Bombardier and Northrop Grumman, and channel partners to accelerate digital workforce transformation at scale.
We are seeking an experienced Communication Strategy Consultant for a focused 2-month contract engagement. This is a high-impact opportunity to help our team articulate its growing story — internally across our organization and externally to our customers, academic partners, and industry stakeholders. You will develop comprehensive, actionable internal and external communication plans that reflect the strategic importance and momentum of our Future Workforce programs.
Lead the creation of a cohesive, overarching communication strategy for the Global Future Workforce team, aligned with our brand voice and strategic priorities. Define key messages, target audiences, communication channels, and measurable success metrics for both internal and external audiences, in alignment with marketing and corporate communication.
Design a detailed internal communication plan to ensure alignment, awareness, and engagement across Siemens' matrixed organization — including sales, marketing, talent acquisition, and technical support teams. Develop messaging frameworks that help internal stakeholders — from account executives to senior leadership — clearly articulate the value of Future Workforce programs, including microcredentials and the digital thread mindset. Recommend channels and cadences (e.g., newsletters, town halls, intranet content, leadership briefings) to keep internal teams informed and energized.
Develop a comprehensive external communication plan targeting key audiences including commercial customers, higher education institutions, government agencies, industry partners, and prospective learners. Craft messaging that communicates the business value of our microcredentials and workforce transformation programs — including how they bridge knowledge gaps, accelerate onboarding, and drive digital transformation adoption. Provide guidance on thought leadership content, endorsement amplification, social media engagement, event communications, and partner-facing materials.
Conduct a thorough analysis of internal and external stakeholders to tailor communication approaches that resonate with each audience's specific needs — from C-suite executives at aerospace companies to engineering students at universities.
Provide strategic guidance on content creation, ensuring consistency in messaging, tone, and brand alignment across all communication materials. Advise on how to leverage existing endorsements, customer testimonials, and program success stories (e.g., Bombardier, Northrop Grumman, Rose-Hulman, University of Cincinnati) to strengthen external credibility.
Present a complete Communication Strategy Document to team leadership, including:
