Business development executive

Genesis10 is seeking an experienced Business Development Executive for a Remote position located in Columbus, OH. This is a direct hire opportunity.

Base Compensation Range: $60,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on skill and experience level. This position is for a proven sales professional to expand our presence and develop new client relationships throughout the Columbus and Central Ohio market. The successful candidate will be a well-connected, entrepreneurial seller who enjoys opening doors, building strategic relationships, and developing accounts from the ground up.

While the role is remote, candidates should be located in or near the Columbus market and be comfortable meeting with clients and participating in local networking and business-development activities.

Responsibilities:

• Leverage your established Columbus and Central Ohio network to introduce Genesis10 to new clients and decision-makers
• Dedicate approximately 80% of your time to developing new business and 20% to growing existing and assigned client relationships
• Prospect, identify, and develop new opportunities across the Columbus market
• Build relationships with executives, technology leaders, business leaders, procurement teams, HR leaders, and talent acquisition partners
• Develop a strong understanding of client business priorities, technology initiatives, workforce challenges, and talent needs
• Identify opportunities where Genesis10 can provide staffing, workforce, consulting, and technology solutions
• Manage the complete sales cycle—from prospecting and initial outreach through discovery, solution development, proposal, negotiation, and close
• Open new accounts and develop them into sustainable, long-term client relationships
• Develop and execute strategic account and territory plans that create a healthy pipeline and consistent revenue growth
• Partner closely with Genesis10's recruiting, delivery, marketing, and leadership teams to develop solutions and deliver an excellent client experience
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client activity, opportunities, pipeline, forecasts, and sales progress
• Represent Genesis10 at local business events, industry organizations, professional associations, and networking opportunities throughout the Columbus market

Requirements:

• Proven success in staffing, consulting services, professional services, technology solutions, or workforce solutions sales
• Established relationships with business and technology leaders throughout Columbus and Central Ohio that can be leveraged to create new opportunities
• Demonstrated ability to prospect, open new accounts, and develop relationships into meaningful revenue
• Strong new-business-development mindset with the discipline and motivation to consistently prospect, network, and build pipeline
• Experience selling IT staffing, professional staffing, project-based consulting, technology services, or workforce solutions strongly preferred
• Experience developing relationships directly with technology and business leaders in addition to procurement, HR, and talent acquisition
• Ability to understand a client's business priorities and connect those needs to appropriate talent, workforce, and delivery solutions
• Strong executive presence and the ability to engage credibly with senior business and technology leaders
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-management skills
• Self-motivated and comfortable operating independently in a remote environment with a high degree of accountability
• Ability to collaborate effectively with recruiting, delivery, marketing, and leadership teams

Desired skills:

• A strong existing network within major Columbus and Central Ohio employers
• A proven track record of leveraging relationships to open doors and generate new business
• Experience selling into large enterprise organizations, particularly within financial services, insurance, healthcare, technology, manufacturing, retail, or other major industries represented in the Columbus market
• Experience navigating complex enterprise sales environments involving business leaders, technology executives, procurement, MSP/VMS programs, and talent acquisition
• Success expanding an initial staffing relationship into broader consulting, project, or workforce-solutions opportunities
• A consultative sales approach focused on understanding client challenges and developing long-term partnerships rather than transactional sales
