This role turns data, stakeholder input, and analysis into better operating decisions. You will report directly to the CFO and partner with leaders across the company to build the models, reporting, and business performance management systems that help the business see clearly and act quickly. We need someone analytical, practical, curious, and comfortable working through messy data, unclear problems, and decisions that matter.
Our mission is simple: better volunteerism, stronger communities. Better Impact provides software that helps nonprofits, government agencies, healthcare organizations, and companies recruit, schedule, communicate with, and track volunteers and their impact. We advance volunteerism by equipping the professionals who make it happen with the technology, benchmarks, and community they need to run effective volunteer programs.
Today, our products support more than 85,000 organizations, millions of volunteers, and over 600 million volunteer hours across the nonprofit, public, healthcare, and corporate sectors. Our vision is a world where volunteerism is recognized, resourced, and respected in every community.
We are a growing, private-equity-backed business, and we are building finance and analytics into a real engine for cross-functional value creation. This role sits at the center of that build.
Better Impact is building a more disciplined finance and analytics function as the company scales. That means cleaner data, better models, clearer reporting, command of unit economics, and stronger business performance management across the company. This role will work directly with the CFO to help build that foundation and turn it into practical decision support for leaders across finance, GTM, CX, and operations.
This role requires strong analytical and technical fluency, but the real bar is business judgment: knowing which questions matter, how to answer them rigorously, and how to turn the answer into action.
Strong advanced Excel and financial modeling skills - complex, well-architected, driver-based models built from messy inputs.
Strong data management skills - extracting, cleaning, mapping, transforming, and reconciling data across multiple systems into a reliable foundation for analysis, reporting, and decision support. You can work effectively in both spreadsheets and more advanced tools.
Fluency in SaaS unit economics - LTV/CAC, ARR, NRR, GRR, cohort retention, payback, margin, cash flow - and how they drive decisions and sustainable growth.
Strong business intelligence skills - able to use BI concepts and tools such as Power BI to build reporting that helps leaders understand performance and make better decisions.
Practical experience using automation or AI-enabled workflows - reducing manual work, improving data quality, or accelerating analysis without compromising security or practicality.
Comfort with ambiguity and messy data; you clean, structure, and integrate what you are given rather than waiting for it to be perfect.
Nice to have - systems and tooling:
Medical, dental & vision insurance (after 90 days)
401(k) (after 90 days)
Unlimited vacation + 9 paid holidays
Paid parental leave
