The Opportunity
WSDOT is seeking an experienced and strategic Technology Services Division (TSD) Infrastructure Services Assistant Director to serve as a key member of the TSD executive leadership team. The TSD Infrastructure Services Assistant Director is responsible for one of TSD’s core service areas. Each Assistant Director leads a distinct technology domain, but all operate collaboratively as part of the TSD executive leadership team to ensure consistent enterprise service delivery, shared standards, and unified technology strategies across all agency lines of business.
In this role, you will provide enterprise leadership for the strategy, modernization, security, and reliable operation of WSDOT's core technology infrastructure, including cloud and on-premises environments, enterprise networking, telecommunications, identity and access management, server and storage platforms, fiber optic and mainframe systems, and other mission-critical technologies that support every region, program, and transportation service across the state.
This position leads a diverse organization of managers, engineers, supervisors, and technical specialists while partnering with agency leaders, external organizations, and vendors to deliver resilient, scalable, and secure technology solutions that advance transportation safety, mobility, operational continuity, and innovation.
As a collaborative executive leader, you will help shape division-wide technology strategy, governance, investment priorities, and long-range planning to ensure enterprise infrastructure aligns with WSDOT's mission, statewide technology direction, and future transportation needs.
What to Expect
TSD Infrastructure Services is a division-wide shared-service organization responsible for WSDOT’s foundational technology platforms. Infrastructure Services functions as the enterprise support organization for server, storage, active directory, Azure cloud administration, infrastructure-as-a-service, data networking, telecommunications, fiber optic, and mainframe related equipment and technology for all WSDOT employees. Infrastructure Services provides technical support, management and strategic leadership for these technologies and support assistance to dependent.
