The Architect (Azure/Purview) - Strategy and Governance will lead the design and delivery of secure, scalable cloud solutions focused on data governance and enterprise architecture. This role combines hands-on technical expertise, strategic thinking, and consulting skills to help organizations modernize their data platforms. You will define architecture strategies, guide implementation teams, and ensure solutions align with business objectives, security standards, and operational needs. The position focuses on Microsoft Azure technologies, data governance frameworks, and innovative approaches to managing enterprise data ecosystems. You will collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership to transform complex requirements into effective cloud solutions. Accountabilities:

The Architect (Azure/Purview) - Strategy and Governance is responsible for leading end-to-end architecture initiatives, providing technical direction, and enabling successful delivery of cloud and data governance solutions. • Design and deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable Azure-based solutions that address complex business challenges.
  • Own end-to-end architecture strategy and scope for assigned projects, ensuring alignment with value, security, scalability, performance, reliability, and cost objectives.

  • Support implementations involving data management platforms such as Profisee MDM, Databricks Unity Catalog, and related enterprise data ecosystems.
  • Lead discovery sessions, requirements gathering, and architecture discussions to translate business needs into actionable technical solutions.
  • Serve as a technical lead and subject matter expert, guiding engineers and consultants throughout solution delivery.
  • Provide architectural oversight through design reviews, implementation guidance, technical standards, and cloud best practices.
  • Apply engineering principles including modular design, clear interfaces, testing practices, and maintainable architecture patterns.
  • Use AI-assisted tools to improve development efficiency, documentation, testing, and delivery processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define priorities, manage dependencies, and reduce delivery risks.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Mentor engineers, architects, and technical leads through coaching, pairing, design reviews, and knowledge sharing.
  • Support business development activities through solution design, client workshops, technical presentations, and architectural guidance.
  • Create reusable assets such as templates, documentation, workshops, and implementation frameworks to improve delivery consistency.
  • Promote modern cloud practices, innovative technologies, and responsible AI adoption across teams.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in cloud architecture, data governance, and enterprise technology consulting, with the ability to lead complex technical initiatives while remaining hands-on.

  • 7+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related cloud-based technology environments.
  • 2+ years of experience working with Microsoft Azure technologies.
  • Strong expertise in at least one major public cloud platform, with Azure strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering governance programs and enterprise data solutions.
  • Strong understanding of data platforms, analytics ecosystems, and modern data management practices.
  • Experience across two or more data management areas, such as data warehousing and business intelligence, data science and machine learning, master data management, data governance, or data quality management.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview, including data discovery, scanning, unified catalog, glossary management, lineage, classification, and ownership models.
  • Experience with data governance platforms such as Profisee MDM and/or Databricks Unity Catalog is preferred.
  • Experience leading hybrid and remote teams while maintaining alignment, quality, and predictable delivery.
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture concepts, design patterns, security practices, networking, integration, and data services.
  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments, including backlog refinement and iteration planning.
  • Experience in consulting or professional services environments is a plus.
  • Experience using AI-enhanced development tools and integrating AI or machine learning capabilities into solutions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic architecture responsibilities with hands-on technical implementation.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and adoption of emerging cloud technologies.

Benefits:

The role offers a competitive compensation package and benefits designed to support flexibility, professional growth, and employee well-being.

  • Competitive base salary range of $117,500 - $176,300 USD.
  • Eligibility for annual discretionary and/or utilization-based bonus opportunities.
