Accountant (wfh)

You will be asked to use QuickBooks Online to perform Accrual Basis accounting. You will need to follow our month-end close process and prepare financial statements for our clients. kept.pro is not your traditional bookkeeping firm. DAILY AND MONTHLY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performing accounting functions within QuickBooks Online and other platforms
• Ability to determine effect of accounting transactions based on an Accrual or Cash Basis
• Prepare the initial draft of monthly financial statements
• Lead the month end close process
• Maintain supporting Balance Sheet schedules, for example: Prepaid Expenses, Accrued Expenses, Fixed Asset Schedule, Payroll liability reconciliations
• Prepare and record month end journal entries
• Compete the full cycle duties for A/R and A/P
• Prepare and review payroll
• Prepare and review Sales Tax
• Primary communicator with clients
• Reviewing team member’s work; support Controller in coaching and training less experienced team members
• Setting up new technology integrations and troubleshoot any issues
• Partnering with a variety of vendors and platforms to complete accounting operations (e.g. expense management software, payroll providers, etc)

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working with multiple clients / entities (>5), across a variety of industries to deliver bookkeeping or accounting services
• 4+ years bookkeeping or accounting experience
• An Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field; or bookkeeping certification
• Proficiency working in QuickBooks Online
• Proficient with accrual accounting, consolidated financial statements, revenue recognition, and executing the month end close process
• Analytical thinker that is skilled in creative problem solving and using independent judgment
• Exceptional attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks, and finish projects within a specified timeframe
• Enjoys engaging with clients
• High level of comfort with leveraging tools and technology to collaborate with remote team members
• Reside within a state where we are established (Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Minnesota).
