Under the direct supervision of the Vice President of Membership Experience, the Senior Director is responsible for developing membership and other program revenue, which will enable the center to advance their mission and strategic center plan. Responsibilities include but are not limited to meeting and/or exceeding revenue goals for all membership categories, including corporate membership accounts. Also works closely with the Center Executive Director or Associate Executive Director, and related staff to ensure the center is providing timely, efficient and consistent service adhering to the customer service guidelines outlined by the association.

The incumbent will spend most of their time in related administrative functions such as deploying retention strategies, mapping out training plans, coaching, analyzing data, regular meetings with the team. The remainder of their time in direct engagement with members and building relationships within the community. Supervision could include the full time Member Engagement Specialists (if applicable), member services team and may provide leadership for other center departments and or association initiatives.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related is required.
  • Must have a minimum of 4-5 years of experience in sales or customer experience field with 3-4 years in developing and executing a strategic plan and a proven track record of taking initiative and innovative approaches to surpass challenging performance goals.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and credibility quickly.
  • Excellent presentation, writing and negotiation skills are essential to success in this position.
  • Must possess an entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to demonstrate flexibility in a rapidly changing, fast-paced and often ambiguous work environment.
  • Position requires a varied work schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Knowledgeable and keep current of center program offerings and the scope of options available to members including income-based pricing (MFA), corporate, and insurance-based options.
  • Demonstrates caring, honesty, respect and responsibility while providing a quality member experience for program participants and members.
  • Ability to establish relationships among the team and with stakeholders is key in moving along the continuum of being a healthier, more equitable, more connected community.
