Position Overview

Cumulus Media | Salt Lake City is looking for an experienced Promotions Director/On-Air Traffic Reporter to coordinate and execute revenue generating on and off-air promotions and events. The Promotions Director would supervise the image and presence of the stations in the marketplace to our primary demographic while maintaining a winning onsite presence. This position requires a high degree of organizational skills, attention to detail, time management, a personal disposition that works well with creative co-workers in Programming, Digital and Sales and most importantly, has a passion for delivering successful promotions and events. On-Air work is delivering the Traffic reports.

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and execute promotional events and contests within departmental budget that span a wide range of demographics
• Work with Digital departments on promotional (on-air and on-site) social media strategy
• Hire and lead a high-performance execution team
• Work in collaboration with Programming and Sales teams
• Identify opportunities within communities that make sense for us to partner with
• Negotiate and purchase collateral and other promotional items
• Develop strategic relationships with entertainment and event venues to benefit the stations
• Work with local charities to the mutual benefit of the community, the charity and the stations
• Provide regular coaching and performance feedback to staff
• Coordinate and draft all sales and station promotions from conception to facilitation
• Contests, giveaways, station websites and on-site events and appearances including paid client events and charity endeavors

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of related experience required.
• Bachelor's degree in marketing, project management, business, or related field/area highly preferred.
• Valid driver's license required. Driving is an essential function of this position because regular travel is required to perform key job duties, including transporting equipment and supporting station events and remote broadcasts.
• Available to work a varied schedule based on Holidays & station events.
• Ability to lift and or pull up to 50lbs required.
• Knowledge of all applicable FCC rules and regulations highly preferred.
• Understanding of station programming strategies preferred.
• Computer literacy in Photoshop, HTML, Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Media Span and Promo Suite is highly preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Problem-solving and prioritization skills.
• Strong leadership skills with a focus on nurturing and growing support staff.
• Possesses a strong aptitude for collaboration.
• Should have a creative mind and passion for innovation.
• Ability to interact with management and staff of all levels.
• Ability to multi-task and handle multiple deadlines.
• Ability to clearly communicate team expectations.

Pay Range

USD $38,000.00 - USD $44,000.00 /Yr.
