Bar Manager (Seasonal)

POSITION TITLE: Bar Manager

STATUS: Temporary

COMPENSATION: $17.00 hourly

LOCATION: Doswell, Virginia – State Fair of Virginia

REPORTS TO: Manager of Vendor Sales

THE ROLE:

This role oversees all alcohol operations during the State Fair of Virginia.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Oversee Festival Loop, Harvest Landing, Special Events (in Meadow Hall), Rodeo and FBC alcohol operations.
• Open and close bar locations each day.
• Connect POS devices and ensure staff know how to operate the POS.
• Distribute wristbands and ID scanners.
• Disconnect all POS equipment at the end of the day.
• Communicate with locations on restocking needs.
• Coordinate restocking.
• Oversee Clover and ID scanner equipment.
• Be the primary contact for bartenders.

POSITION: Entry Level

The position will include some, but not necessarily all the above primary duties.

EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent.

• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Punctuality.
• Ability to work multiple days in a row.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Outdoor environment. Position will begin on September 25, 2026. Schedule will include day, evening, and weekend shifts during the State Fair, September 25 – October 4, 2026. Position will end on or around October 4, 2026.
