The University of Nevada, Reno Libraries is recruiting for a Manager, Events and Production. This position is responsible for conducting needs assessments, coordinating necessary equipment and personnel, and producing live media elements for University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) events. The Manager, Events and Production meets with potential event clients, determines needs, creates action plans to fulfill needs, and makes decisions and judgments as to the best technology and methods to implement plans and produce events. The position is often the sole representative for troubleshooting problems at an event and thus must make decisions autonomously and quickly.
The Manager, Events and Production determines appropriate technology, delivery modes, and production methodologies, decisions that have a significant impact on the success and effectiveness of events, including those involving the Offices of the President and Provost. They have a direct impact on the University’s image within the University community, with the alumni and donor base, various constituencies within the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE), local and state community members, and constituencies within state and local government, all of whom are frequent participants in events held on campus. Likewise, the incumbent’s performance, decision-making, and handling of crises and high-pressure, impromptu situations reflect on the perception and credibility of the University Libraries. The position manages a team of professional and student staff and reports to the Director, Digital Media Technology.
Bachelor's Degree and three (3) years of related professional work experience OR Master’s Degree and two (2) years of related work experience. Related experience: Event media technology coordination and support or related experience.
