Job Description
Ohnstad Twichell, one of North Dakota's oldest and largest law firms, is seeking a full-time Legal Projects Coordinator to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an organized, curious, and proactive professional who enjoys technology, helping others, and finding better ways to get things done.
In this position, you will support attorneys with legal projects and case-related responsibilities while helping the firm explore new technology, improve workflows, and find innovative ways to make legal work more efficient. You will help introduce new tools, train staff, and identify opportunities to improve how work gets done. Whether your background is in the legal field, technology, training, or project coordination, this is an opportunity to combine your skills with an interest in learning and innovation.
What You'll Do
- Assist attorneys with case preparation, client interviews, legal documents, court filings, scheduling, and other case-related tasks.
- Help coordinate case deadlines, court schedules, client communications, and other activities that support the delivery of legal services.
- Help introduce and implement new technology, working with attorneys, staff, firm leadership, and the IT manager to make new tools useful in everyday work.
- Train and support attorneys and staff as they learn new technology, developing practical resources and guidance to help them use tools effectively.
- Look for opportunities to improve workflows, simplify repetitive tasks, and use technology, to make legal work more efficient.
- Explore emerging technology and innovative solutions, gather feedback from users, and help turn new ideas into practical improvements for the firm.
- Coordinate projects and follow through on tasks to help ensure new tools and processes are implemented successfully.
- Maintain confidentiality, communicate professionally, and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
What We're Looking For
- An interest in technology, innovation, and finding better ways to work.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and an ability to explain ideas and processes clearly.
- A willingness to learn new tools, adapt to change, and help others feel comfortable with new technology.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset and an interest in improving processes.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and team members.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office and learning new software and technology platforms.
- Professionalism and discretion when working with confidential information.
- Experience in a legal environment, technology, training, project coordination, or process improvement would be beneficial. However, we welcome candidates with different backgrounds who are eager to learn, take initiative, and contribute to the firm's use of technology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a law firm, legal department, or other professional services environment.
- Experience helping others learn new software, coordinating projects, or implementing new processes.
- Familiarity with legal documents, case management systems, or court procedures.
Why Ohnstad Twichell?
- Competitive compensation.
- Excellent benefits.
- Opportunities for professional growth and development.
- Encouragement and support for volunteering and community involvement.
- The opportunity to work alongside experienced attorneys and legal professionals on a variety of legal matters.
- The opportunity to help shape how technology is used to improve legal services and support the firm's continued growth and innovation.
