About the Firm

Black & Graf is a multi-practice law firm in Las Vegas. We serve businesses and individuals in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. We are looking for an organized, detail-driven Legal Assistant to support our Real Estate, Estate Planning, and Business Law practices.

Position Summary

The Legal Assistant will work directly with one of our attorneys, managing the attorney’s calendar and scheduling client meetings, signings, and closings. The role also supports residential and commercial real estate, estate planning, and business matters. It requires strong organization, close attention to detail, and comfort with a high volume of documents that are sensitive to deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scheduling and Attorney Support
    • Manage the attorney’s calendar, including client meetings, consultations, signings, closings, and filing dates.
    • Serve as the first point of contact for clients, and communicate professionally with opposing counsel, lenders, title and escrow officers, and government agencies.
    • Prepare for meetings by gathering files and documents in advance.
    • Keep electronic files organized in the firm’s document management system, and record time accurately and on time.
  • Real Estate, Estate Planning, and Business Matters
    • Support residential and commercial real estate transactions from contract to closing, including escrow, title, HOA documents, leases, deadlines, and closing binders.
    • Prepare first drafts of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and trust funding deeds, and coordinate signing meetings with witnesses and notary.
    • Prepare Nevada entity filings, annual lists, and governance documents, and assist with occasional business transactions.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in real estate, estate planning, or business law.
  • Strong calendar management skills and comfort serving as an attorney’s main point of contact.
  • Estate planning experience is preferred. A Nevada notary commission is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Nevada entity filings and SilverFlume is preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel skills. CosmoLex, NetDocuments, and DocuSign experience is a plus.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and discretion with confidential information.
  • Paralegal certificate or degree is preferred but not required.
