Cytologist

Schedule Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Assignment Details

Full-Time position with no weekend or on-call requirements.

Requirements

• Cytologist (CT) ASCP or eligible (contingent upon passing certification)
• Bachelor's of Science is required; new graduates accepted
• Preferred experience with rose procedure and fine-needle aspiration procedures
• Ability to work in a high-stress environment

Responsibilities

• Microscopically examine gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens for cancerous and pre-cancerous cells
• Assist in obtaining diagnostic quality samples and provide feedback on fine-needle aspiration procedures
• Screen a designated number of Pap smears and handle non-gynecologic specimens
• Collaborate with physicians and participate in direct patient care
• Work independently while receiving trust and feedback from pathologists
