Help protect the technology that helps protect our community. Park City Fire Service District (PCFSD) is seeking an experienced, forward-thinking IT Manager to lead and support the technology systems that keep our organization connected, secure, and ready to respond. From cybersecurity and network infrastructure to cloud services and technology modernization, this position plays a critical role in supporting the people and systems our community depends on every day. If you enjoy solving complex problems, developing practical technology solutions, and balancing hands-on technical work with long-term planning, we invite you to join our team.

Examples of Duties

The Opportunity

Under the general direction of the Assistant Chief, the IT Manager provides strategic leadership and day-to-day operational oversight of PCFSD’s technology environment. This position is responsible for maintaining reliable and secure systems, supporting employees across the District, managing technology projects and vendors, and planning for future technology needs. The IT Manager serves as the District’s primary technology resource, combining hands-on technical support with cybersecurity, infrastructure management, budgeting, risk management, and long-range planning. This is an FLSA-exempt position. Occasional evening or weekend work and limited travel may be required, including in response to technology outages or security incidents.

Key Responsibilities

  • IT Operations and User Support - Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues involving computers, applications, telecommunications, networks, and other District systems. Provide user guidance, training, and documentation.
  • Systems and Network Administration - Administer, monitor, maintain, and improve servers, networks, cloud services, endpoints, telecommunications, and business applications. Plan system upgrades, lifecycle replacements, and disaster recovery.
  • Cybersecurity and Risk Management - Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and controls. Monitor potential threats, manage user access, coordinate incident response and recovery, and promote security awareness.
  • Technology Strategy and Project Management - Evaluate current and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and automation. Develop technology roadmaps, document system architecture, and manage projects aligned with District priorities.
  • Vendor and Asset Management - Coordinate technology procurement and vendor relationships. Maintain hardware and software inventories, licensing, warranties, subscriptions, and service contracts.
  • Budgeting and IT Administration - Coordinate technology budgets, purchasing, planning, and ongoing operations. Work collaboratively with District leadership and personnel to ensure technology supports operational needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Accredited associate degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Five years of progressively responsible IT experience in infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, cloud services, or a related area.
  • Demonstrated experience administering enterprise technology environments, including end-user systems, networks, applications, cloud services, and security controls.
  • Experience providing application support, troubleshooting, user training, and technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project-management skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities independently, exercise sound judgment, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and risks to audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge.
  • Ability to learn and support unfamiliar technologies and business processes while establishing effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, vendors, and the public.
  • Valid Utah driver’s license, or ability to obtain one by the time of hire, without a record of suspension or revocation in any state.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or provide proof of appropriate work authorization at the time of application.
