Job Description

Power your career. Design meaningful projects. Grow with a team that values your ideas.

Weston & Sampson is looking for a motivated and collaborative Electrical Engineer to join our growing Electrical Engineering team! Whether you're building your foundation as an early-career engineer or bringing experience and expertise to more complex projects, this is an opportunity to develop your skills, contribute to exciting engineering work, and make a meaningful impact alongside a multidisciplinary team.

You'll work on a diverse range of projects serving educational, commercial, federal and municipal clients. From power distribution and lighting to fire alarm and emergency power systems, your work will help support the buildings, facilities, and essential infrastructure that communities rely on every day.

At Weston & Sampson, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with engineers across disciplines, work directly with clients and project partners, and take on increasing responsibility as your experience grows. We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, takes initiative, and is excited to contribute ideas while helping deliver practical, high-quality engineering solutions.

If you're ready to take the next step in your engineering career and grow with a team that values collaboration, technical excellence, and professional development, we'd love to meet you!

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Design impactful projects: Perform electrical engineering design for new construction and renovation projects across public, private, commercial, educational, municipal, water, and wastewater facilities.
  • Bring designs to life: Develop construction documents and contract drawings, conduct field investigations, review shop drawings, prepare technical reports, and participate in project meetings.
  • Collaborate across disciplines: Coordinate with mechanical, structural, civil, and other engineering professionals in local and regional offices to develop integrated building system solutions.
  • Work directly with project partners: Collaborate with clients, subconsultants, equipment vendors, and other stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
  • Solve real-world engineering challenges: Apply technical knowledge and creative problem-solving to develop safe, reliable, and practical electrical systems.
  • Take ownership and grow: Work independently while collaborating with experienced team members, taking on increasing responsibility and developing your technical and leadership skills.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Degree in engineering, an electrical or technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 0–8 years of experience in an engineering consulting firm or a related electrical design environment.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit, or familiarity with similar design software.
  • Knowledge of electrical building systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, emergency power generation, and applicable National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements.
  • Familiarity with relevant building codes, electrical standards, and design manuals.
  • Demonstrated electrical design experience and the ability to apply technical knowledge to practical engineering solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Initiative, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Willingness to develop leadership skills and contribute to the growth and success of the team.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
