Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager of Community Data and Insights plays a critical role in transitioning Southern Nevada's human services sector from a fragmented network into an interconnected, data-driven ecosystem. While responsible for the baseline monitoring and quarterly evaluation of UWSN's internal Community Impact programs, the Manager's primary focus is executing the research, partner alignment, and data collection strategy for the Southern Nevada Social Impact Dashboards (SNV-SID) initiative.

This role serves as the lead facilitator for regional data coalitions-including the Data Advisory Group (DAG) and the Community Resiliency Coalition-working to harmonize community indicators across education, economic mobility, and philanthropic funding. The Manager will partner directly with external technical consultants to translate raw community datasets into interactive, public-facing dashboards, public resource hubs, and AI-assisted data tools. Ultimately, the Manager ensures UWSN provides the empirical, live data required to surface regional funding gaps and support collaborative community solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF POSITION

An individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed below:

  • Coalition Facilitation & Partner Alignment: Convene and coordinate the Data Advisory Group (DAG) and Community Resiliency Coalition to establish regional data governance standards, define privacy boundaries, and build trust among 100+ community partners to share operational and community need data.
  • Dashboard & Data Utility Execution: Research successful national community dashboards and collaborate with leadership to build UWSN's Interconnected Portfolios, including the Community Indicator Dashboards and the Sector Funding Insights dashboard.
  • Technical Collaboration: Partner closely with UWSN's Technical Product Lead (Consultant) to translate raw community datasets into actionable, live dashboards. Assist in the implementation and continuous prompt engineering of page-level AI chatbots designed to help everyday users interpret complex data.
  • Research & Gap Analysis: Identify, aggregate, and monitor community-level datasets (e.g., 211 Counts, Youth Opportunity pipelines, Healthy Community indicators, Financial Security indicators, and Community Resiliency indicators) to help map regional funding footprints, surface service deserts, and identify philanthropic overlaps.
  • Own data quality and intake for SNV-SID: data-sharing agreements with partners, cleaning and documenting incoming datasets, and privacy checks (de-identification, small-number suppression) before anything is published.
  • Internal M&E Management: Manage and execute the quarterly impact reporting for UWSN's internal Community Impact programs and milestone initiatives, utilizing established trackers and templates to ensure efficient and accurate program evaluation.
  • Cross-Functional Data Storytelling: Act as the primary data liaison to internal teams. Provide the External Affairs team with aggregate trends needed to draft non-partisan policy briefs, and supply the Fund Development and Marketing teams with compelling, localized impact metrics for donor stewardship and public communications.
  • Capacity Building: Implement strategies that help UWSN build community stakeholders' capacity to effectively utilize the SNV-SID platform and embed data tracking into their daily operational routines.
  • Continuous Learning: Develop a deep understanding of UWSN's institutional history, programs, and the broader macro-economic and demographic trends impacting the "Missing Middle" and low-income families in Southern Nevada.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum requirements include:

  • Mission-Focused: Strives to achieve shared goals. Exhibits UWSN's core values in their daily work: Accountability, Collaboration, Integrity, Innovation and Diversity.

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating or facilitating multi-stakeholder coalitions, advisory groups, or community working groups to achieve shared goals.
  • Proven ability to execute data collection strategies, synthesize mixed-methods research (quantitative and qualitative), and translate raw data into compelling visual narratives.
  • Familiarity with the architecture of community data ecosystems, open-data platforms, or regional indicator dashboards.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of human service strategies, social determinants of health, and interventions impacting low-income populations.
  • Ability to train diverse groups and provide tailored technical assistance on data literacy and platform adoption.
  • Strong writing, organization, and public speaking skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly to non-technical audiences.
